IF you would see how Porsche or Audi or MB do their ED program... BMW is miles ahead. Do they have anything or where someone who is interested in those brands - can go to see new cars? Sit in them, ask someone about them? No.

Plus the buildings where those manufacturers offer ED delivery or where German customer's cars can be picked up - is really quite small and pathetic.

There is a reason why the BMW Welt is the number one tourist attraction in Germany. Plus every month or so BMW puts on family events or sporting events or films/theatrical shows. I think that's really cool. No other manufacturer does that.

Just a few of the events over the last year held at the BMW Welt...

I cannot imagine why anyone would not take delivery at the Welt!
UK buyers are not allowed to use ED :-(

Neither are BMW AG employees. The can only pick up their cars at a special private employee only dealership(not open to the public).

Plus German customers have to pay 500 euros extra to pickup a car at the Welt.

?500 well spent! Also, given the discounts I'm sure BMW AG employees get, picking up the car by the side of a sewage plant would still be fine

But I did mention this on my post: Apart from an European Delivery, I cant see what all the fuss is about The BMW Welt.

I also did mention the architecture of the buildings.

I wasn't there during those "family events or sporting events or films/theatrical shows" you've mentioned.

Thanks for the update on the Welt, Dackelone. Did euro delivery in 2009 and last there in 2012. Feel another visit coming in another year or two.

We Swedes have to pay around 1000 euros to do the pick up at Welt, but it's worth it. It's a very nice experience, I've done it twice and will do it again when I swap my F34 GT for I don't know yet. Will be late 2016 or early 2017. :-)

Every day BMW has the motorrad drivers do their "thing inside the Welt. I think the 15 minute motorcycle show is every day at 11am and 1pm. Its really cool that BMW does that. IF you look closely at that stair case... you can see how much of a beating those bikes put on those stairs! Really cool of BMW to do this.

Here is something cool that BMW did a while back...

Like those engravings. Price is, as expected, outrageous.

I didn't think the laser engraving prices were that bad. Most of the stuff was 30 to 40 euros. What I thought was really cool is they can even etch/engrave your lic plate(!) too! Sure some of the stuff was 80ish euros. But most of the small stuff wasn't so bad.

Here are some pics.

Dackelone Thanks for posting. Brings back memories. My biggest regret on the trip was not exploring the welt. All this planning for all these months and I spent the least amount of time at the Welt I feel like kicking myself for it. We basically got in, picked up the car, spent an hour at the gift shop and then ran off to the castles Huge mistake
