Not only will this be my first M, but also my first BMW. I was actually looking at the M4 until last year when I saw that in Canada, with the options I wanted, the car was out of my range.
But now along comes the M2, and with a possible move to the US for work, the price is even better! |

Depending on availability, I think the M2 buyers will be a good split between new "entry level" M buyers and those who want a small, nimble M car regardless of cost, etc.
I'll be adding the M2 to my M5 and Z4M coupe. I think it will be a perfect complement to those cars. That said, so would a 997.2 GTS, and on some days I'm tempted by a Jag F-type V6-S manual...I think my indecision is in part due to the eternal wait for the M2. I have high hopes for the car, but am trying to realistic given the price point.

Assuming I can swallow that turbo thing it will be my 3rd M ... and 3rd M in the garage since I am the original owner of a 1996 Euro 3.2 M3 E36 and a 2005 M3 E46 Competition Package

Good luck on the GT4... cant imagine many are even left right now... but if you don't need a roof.. sounds like the boxster spyder is actually likely to be available... and is a helluva value... |

I am quite enjoying my current Range Rover Evoque, but I've come around to the thinking that my next vehicle needs two doors for the sexy & a performance punch but it also needs to have a trunk so I can take it on vacation and it needs to be able to do duty as a daily driver here in occasionally-snowy Ohio.
So far the M2 seems the most likely candidate, and it would be my first BMW and first M, but I want to see the details and how it works out amongst BMW fans and critics, but I like what I have seen so far! |

had the e46m3 myself and based on the 235, I see M2 to be vastly different from e46m3 and 1M, both driving feel and dynamics. think you should keep M2 on your watch list.
