This car needs to come out sooner rather than later, so all the deep pocket guys can clear the way for us cheapo's who don't want to play the $5,000 over US MSRP market adjustment game. The longer this car takes to release, the longer we will have to wait for that shit to die down.

The only data my dealer said was officially announced was SOP and EOP, I think the delivery dates were just the dealerships' guesses.

I think it has to do with marketing. This car fits into a specific niche within the M lineup, and the release date is key.

It actually could be a good sign that performance is excellent and they want the hottest versions of the M4 to be announced to as to preserve a gap.

To be honest I always thought it was spring delivery for the U.S. I can't find the old post but when that news was released it was outlined that Nov was EU production start with Jan delivery... US production start mid winter with spring delivery.

this is what i was thinking, also i wonder if its within reason to think BMW is bsing us, maybe the date all along was spring 2016 but they moved it up just to keep impatient buyers from buying elsewhere, and now they are moving it back to the original date

Guys I think you also want to know this:

A member of the german m-forum got an order from BMW to produce some footage for the M2. The date for producing this footage is set for the first quarter of 2016 ... that isn't sounding good (especially when you want to get infos in 2015), even for the EU buyers ... he said that he thinks, that the M2 might be presented in Genf 2016 (!!!), even Detroit would be too soon for the timeline he got.

Daher glaube ich nicht, das BMW das Footage erst Anfang nächsten Jahres dreht, das Fahrzeug aber schon Ende diesen Jahres auf den Markt kommt bzw. in den Verkauf geht.

Da ich ja den genauen Zeitraum des Footage-Drehs kenne, macht nach kurzer Recherche Detroit keinen wirklichen Sinn.

Wie gesagt: Footage wird in 99 Prozent der Fälle immer vor der Veröffentlichung des Fahrzeuges gedreht. Und Detroit wäre vor dem geplanten Drehtermin.
