This time around it was definitely not as pleasant, but I wanted the car and they had an allocation for a 2014, whereas BMW of Fairfax, who was more pleasant to deal with, was not.

Awesome, I wasn't given an estimate for a completion date, but I'd assume I'm looking at the same then. Congrats! I've got to be honest, since placing my order I keep looking at 996 turbos to pass the time, it's not making the wait any easier.

Yeah, my co-worker has a cousin who works at Fairfax and only hear horrible things about that place. Sterling was my first stop, but I didn't really like the sales rep who was dealing with me. 2 days later, I ended up at Alexandria and was out the door with an order in 30 minutes.

I bought my 135i in Vegas and looked all over the country for the best deals for a M235i. Most were in the New England area, which was fine for me since my girlfriend is from there and we go quite a bit. So I used that as a bargaining chip to establish a relationship with a local dealer to get them to meet me on a price I was happy with.

Just called the 1800 number again to check the automated response. It now says my vehicle is in production with an estimated completion date of 6/19 as well. Even though I was already told by a rep that it was in production, it felt good that the automated response is now updated as well. Now, if only the website would update lol.

Ah yeah, my friend works at BMW of Fairfax. He got me in touch with a pretty nice sales rep and I was ready to make the deal, but then was told that they didn't have an allocation. I first went to Sterling and wanted to make the deal there, but really disliked the sales manager I was dealing with so I went to Fairfax. After the allocation ordeal, I went to Sterling, asked to deal with another sales manager and got them to match the deal Fairfax was giving me. It was definitely more work than I would've liked, but in the end I'll have the car I want and that's all I really care about. I'm not going to let a crappy buying experience sour the joys of a new car.

That being said, I definitely won't be recommending BMW of Sterling to family and friends. Most people I know won't be looking to order, or be in my position where they want a car built to their own specifications, and want it before summer is over, so typically the cars on the dealers lot will fit their needs/wants.

I'm glad you were able to make it work at BMW of Alexandria. I should've tried their as well, but I live in Aldie, so my laziness ultimately won over.

Yeah, DC metro area will make you lazy haha. By the way, I also ordered an Estoril Blue with all the same things except Terra dakota leather and no tech package.

Awesome. I've only seen Estoril Blue on a 335i but really loved the look of it, and is actually the main reason I decided to order. They had one exactly how I ordered mine at Sterling but it was Mineral Gray. While it's a nice color, I just want something brighter for once. My last cars have been black and gray. Nice choice on the interior, I almost changed my mind to get Coral Red at the last minute, but couldn't bring myself to do it. Had a gray interior been an option, I would've been all over it. Any idea when you might be getting your M235i?

Anyone know if it should say here or not about the Michelin PSS tires that should be coming with my car? After reading about people not getting them I'm a little worried about what might be on the car when it arrives.

Thanks man. I know you're pumped! I just called again and the automated response says my car is being transported to the port of exit. It seems like things are moving insanely quick, even though the wait is still terrible haha. They said the car went into production last Wednesday, and most people say that their cars were in production for over a week. Either way, hopefully they get it on a ship and on its way over. I didn't get any port installed accessories so hopefully there's no hold up there. I also have the CF mirror caps and black grilles waiting at home. Things are looking up!

I received also an update on my M235i. The production has being completed and the vehicle was handle over to the carrier for transport to port of exit. Looks like our M235i's are going to be sharing a boat.

I'm 100% sure I'll get the Michelin PSS and I see the same thing as you on myBMW site. What I don't know is if the RFT would show up there or not though. Can anyone that got the RFT check and reply?

Pretty sweet. Are you on the East Coast as well? I think mine will be going to the port in Baltimore, that seems to be the closest to my dealer.

Yeah, I got the grille and mirror caps. I actually despise most traces of chrome, and I thought the silver mirror caps just looked off and more classy than sporty. Or maybe just more mature, but I'm 28 and I don't want to grow up yet. I definitely recommend doing the black grille on your 4. I had a metallic black (dont recall the actual paint name) 135i and I had the black grilles on that, it really takes on a kind of mean look to it. I love it.

Well that's slightly reassuring. I also got the aluminum hexagon interior trim with estoril blue matte trim finishers and that doesn't show up on the tracking page either so maybe it just omits anything that's typically standard.

Mine shows the brushed alum trim and the highlight trim. I'm guessing yours doesn't show up because it's the default (as you said).

Ah okay. I took a look at the shipping company's website and it looks like one leaves for Baltimore every week. I may have this way sooner than I thought.

Which shipping line did you looked at. Here is where I checked and there are two carriers leaving next week for the USA, East coast, You are correct, it takes a few more days before my M235i arrives at port after yours have being delivered.

Excited for you and congrats on your car. I picked the same estriol blue and I think it's an awesome color.
I just found out that my car will be on the INDEPENDENCE II leaving 06/24/2014 arriving 07/14/2014. Not sure how long it will take to get to PCD in SC but it's exciting to know which ship it will be on

Just curious...I thought that we'd learn which boat only when it departs or even soon after. Are you saying that information becomes available days before? And is it communicated from the automated message on the 1-800#? Thanks!

Oh I did ED and dropped it off at a drop off location in Munich. So my situation is a little different.
