2016 invoice pricing
Now that the ordering guide is out, my dealer is giving me the ok to put in an order for a 2016. But I want to negotiate with invoice pricing in my back pocket. When will we know US and ED invoice pricing, as well as option invoices?
Update: Received word from my dealer that the figure is $37,820 for ED invoice, which lines up with the formula mentioned elsewhere in this forum: (ED MSRP) * .92 = ED Invoice 41,110 * .92 = $37,821.20 Update 2: Option invoice prices for 2016, from my dealer:
Always ask to see the dealer's invoice sheet before signing any deals, if you're negotiating based on invoice prices. Last edited by MegaMatt3; 06-05-2015 at 09:27 AM.. |

I'm waiting on the same thing. It looks like from what everyone is saying the 2016 base price is $1000 more than the 2015 because they added the premium pkg standard. From my research the 2015 ED base invoice was $36,485 so I guess just add $1000 to that.

Applying the same .92 ratio to the 2016 base ED MSRP of 41110, we could estimate that base ED invoice would be around 37821. (none of these figures include the $950 destination fee). |

I apologize for highjacking your post - but I have a similar invoice question but regarding the 228. Does anyone know the 2016 invoice and if anything new is standard now? I've gone over the ordering guide and it seems to be the same as 2015. Thank you

Alright, so I've spoken with a couple dealers and gotten two different numbers for 2016 M235i ED invoice, neither of which I think are correct:
- $37,820 - $38,223 It's been stated elsewhere that ED invoice is usually calculated as (MSRP * .93 * .92). So with ED MSRP being $43,110, it should be 43110 * .93 * .92 = $36,884 I'm assuming I'm being played by these dealers... what does everyone else think? I thought that calculation was used on US MSRP, not ED MSRP. ???
My 2016 M235i ED quote shows a base wholesale price of $37,820. which is very close to that calculation. |

See this thread. But Edmunds is where you should go: http://www.edmunds.com/bmw/2-series/...#step1#facets1 Go to Step 3. |

The formula just clicked for me. ED MSRP is roughly 7% off US MSRP and ED Invoice is roughly 8% off ED MSRP. Hence: US-MSRP * .93 = ED-MSRP ED-MSRP * .92 = ED-Invoice So since we know ED MSRP from the pricing guide, we can jump straight to step 2: $41,110 * .92 = $37821, which is the number one of my dealers gave me. Now, as for the $38,223 number my other dealer gave me, I don't know what to make of that. I think he's just flat out lying for more money. |

I hate it when they lie!
Does everyone agree with Edmunds invoice pricing for the U.S. Delivery? If so we can kind of get to the 2016 prices by factoring in the additional $1000? US Invoice = 93% of Base Price (2015 = 41810 for the top base model + $930 for 2016 increase for all models?) ED Invoice = 92% of the above number Delivery = 950? Options = 91% of US MSRP for either US or ED (2016?). No double discount? + MACO Etc. (Only US and not ED?) I find the MACO etc. to vary a lot by region. |

Are you asking about 2015 model year? This thread's about 2016. |

Yes; the link to 2015 Edmunds pricing above specifically.
If we agree it's correct then we can rely on its 2016 numbers when available. We can also get there now by adding $930 to all base numbers? The variables would be the change in option prices and MACO etc. |

No expert but as I understand it MACO is "advertising" charged to the dealer by the manufacturer. A portion gets allocated to each sale. Usually between .5 and 1.5 percent in the U.S.

MACO is market area co-op... it's an advertising fee that a dealership buys into through the manufacturer. Think of this fee as part of the dealer's profits instead of adding it to what you pay over invoice.
