That looks great! I wrapped the trim in my old e46's and it is the cheapest way to transform an interior. I would love to do that with mine, but not sure how it would look with the red interior...

You can source a set of the gloss black trim for around $200 if memory serves, it was standard on 228/230 but never offered on 235/240. I did that with my red interior and it looks great.

Yes, bolted to bottom of seat pan, the extinguisher moves with the seat and no passengers complained about it being in the way.

What trim do you have? Someone plasti-dipped their hex trim flat black and it looked really good.

How did you clean the bay?
I've always been hesitant to use water around there. Always used only cleaner with microfiber

I never use water. I use microfiber towels, brushes and my car vacuum. I also use Meguiar's Ultimate Black on the plastic surfaces and hoses. On the painted metal surfaces I just use Meguiar's Quick Detailer.
Don't have to perform this level of detailing each wash, only one or two times a year. I usually only have to do a quick wipe down.

Looking to do this myself. Did you have to remove the seat to bolt the bracket to the bottom of the seat?

Just remove 4 seat bolts then rotate seat backwards. Don't need to take seat out or unplug any wires. Super easy and quick.

Great! One last question - with the extinguisher mounted, can the passenger seat thigh support still be extended forward or does it contact the extinguisher?

The passenger seat thigh support slides out and in without interference. If I have a passenger riding with me I usually have the thigh support extended just because it covers the extinguisher bottle.
One additional tip, before you unbolt the seat from the floor, tilt your seat back forward as far as it will go then unbolt the seat and rotate the seat backwards. This will allow the seat pan to get maximum access to the bottom pan. I can post a picture with the thigh support extended tomorrow is you wish to see how everything fits together.
I always carried fire extinguishers with mounts in my vehicles, this bracket works great in this car. Have fun.

Wrapped the silver trim in all 3M DI-noc carbon fiber. Very happy with how it came out. Material is great quality and beats spending $800 or more on actual carbon fiber pieces.
Did you pull all the pieces off and replace, or do them in place?
