cool video. i would take that CSL anyday over the m235i, even though the m235i is pretty sexy.

As sexy as the CSL is. I couldn't live with that terrible gearbox.

Agreed, I like the M235i but these cars are no where near as close as he made them.

I can't get over the English subtitles in this video....given that the video is in English

O/w, CSL hail to the king - now that is why people used to buy M3s....

It makes the 235i look like a cartoon. You have to love the E45 M3's understated style, and the fact it put out similar power to the 235i at similar displacement without the help of FI.

M235i design is not bad, but little bit busy (especially front and rear bumber) compared to clean and simple E46 CSL.

Guys, take this video for the fun that it is supposed to be, comparing a new dd to an older hard core rare automobile.

The lap times are quite frankly not relevant other than to show what a solid performer the new 2er is.

For somebody like me that needs a dd, that does 3-4 hpde/yr it would be awesome. Driven smoothly instead of track attack dramatic car magazine style will prove this to be a very sure footed pleasurable car.

A set of coilovers tho...

I wouldn't care which one is faster.

No one would pick an M235i over the super special CSL with 360 horses na.

At least not a right minded person.

Right?

That's not what it is about. It is comparing a car that was, and still is an incredible track car, to the new, on the track.. Really a testament to the 235 in my opinion. I think it is a great comparison, as a LOT of people are looking for an answer to their E46 replacement.

Good eyes, better than mine. I'd still say tires. Even simply half worn PSS would be around a second slower than fresh. It's a huge variable. Either way the fact that the M235i can run it close is impressive.

For a daily driver, rarely if never track car, with a full warranty? I would / did. All depends on what you want to do with the car. Not that the CSL isn't a beast, I just wouldn't want to be paying out of pocket for anything that could go wrong.

its still vs a great car that is TEN YEARS OLD. What if it was compared to the G.O.A.T E30 (I don't think it is but most ppl do) and barely beat it? Would you guys be saying the same thing?

THANK YOU! I can't tell how many reviews I watch regarding bmw specifics that these clowns mess up. My favorite is when they get the n54 and n55 mixed up. Ie reviews on the z435is. You have 1 ducking job, a mistake like that ruins it for me because from that point on I question the entire integrity of the film.
