Why does BMW limit the color options on the M235?
Looking to order an M235i and would love Valencia Orange.
But no. In fact no Valencia Orange, but also no Jet Black, no Deep Sea Blue Metallic, no Midnight Blue Metallic, and more. I don't get it. |

That is accurate. No individuals.

They are balancing the plant complexity of large painted parts (front and rear fascias, for example, which take up a lot of space near the line) versus production volume. It appears they've projected the Sportline will be the high volume model. For the M235, they calculated they can get by with fewer choices and picked the historically high take-rate colors. Not particularly consumer-friendly, but a reasonable way to manage a plant.

Manufacturers often limit color choices on 'special' high-performance cars. Whether it's heritage, marketing, styling or economics. Porsche (chassis 964) 90's RS only came in 3 or 4 colors.
