Back from ED, some lap times from Spa and the ring

My wife and I are back from ED, just wanted to put up a short post on the car. Will post some more photos and vids when I have some free time.

The Car in General:

I never drove a 2 series prior to pickup, heck I had not even seen a m235i in person. Much better looking and fit and finish gives my 991 a run for the money. Car is a pleasure to drive on the roads, really very very pleased.

The Ring,

Our first car related stop was the ring, it was cold and tourist days. I had never been to the ring, luckily I met up with an experienced driver who was able to give me some pointers and coach me rally style. Best I could turn was 8:35, but the car could run of low 8's stock (Bridge to Gantry) especially if there was no traffic and I had some time there. Hard to push the car in 45 degrees, super sports did not get hotter than 95 degrees, so a lot of grip was left on the tires. My coach and new friend has a m135i, same car, euro spec hatchback. With spacers, sway bar and springs he constantly is in the low 8's and thats during tourist days.

Spa,

Also my first time here, and this is a much better place to push the car, equipped with proper run offs. I grabbed a couple of lessons from RSR spa to show me the line. At the end of the day, I was turning 2:52-2:54, no bad out of the box. Hit around 147 in eau rouge, a more experienced spa driver should have no problem hitting the limiter there and trimming several seconds, with a proper lsd, there is even more on the table.

I ran the little guy pretty hard at spa, 3 back to back 25 minute sessions. Other than having some brake fade, which was easily adjusted for the car did not complain. If it was warmer (only low 50's) the stock tires would have de laminated before the car overheated. That is pretty impressive in my book for a sub 50k car.
