Blue on Red can look good, but it can also clash. I would really need to see the combo before ordering. They also upgraded the standard rear differential in their blurb on the 235 extras over the 228 to a limited slip (electronically controlled no less).

Classic sports car color combo? I'm 61 and don't ever remember seeing any sports car that was blue with red interior. White with red, black and many silver Porsches with red interior but never a blue with red.

This is a dilemma for me as I'm all about exterior/interior color combo that complement and contrast one another. No black interior for me.
Favorite exterior : Estoril Blue Favorite interior: coral red But I can't dare to mix them and go for the infamous super man combo.. Should I do it or settle for the more conservative: EB/Terra or MG/coral? |

I ordered a 2013 Z4 last year then decided I wasn't ready for a new BMW and went with a WRX instead. When the car arrive, blue with red interior they had 3 buyers for it that same day! It's a really good looking combo in person.

My vote would be MG / CR especially if you are planning to tint I think that's the best color combo there is. I like EB for sure, but if you are against black I don't think the terra would look great in there. On midnight blue absolutely 100% I'd go terra, but not EB.

Not that anyone really cares about my opinion, but MG/Coral with a a conservative tint so you can still see the interior color is going to be better than EB/Terra. I personally think EB should be paired with black, though Oyster would be OK.

EB/Terra is my order. Blues and browns compliment each other and I love the way they look. Blues and reds compete with each other which sometimes is the desired effect, but not for me. Too garish.
At least that's my professional designer opinion. To each his own though.

Sarcasm for me. I should have been more clear, but figured on here everyone would know it isn't standard on the 235 and isn't available from BMW yet. You make a good point, though, that maybe they were referring to the open diff with active braking. I just assumed in their reference to "electronically controlled" they got confused with the M-differential on the M3/4 which, as near as I can tell, electronically controls the level of lock.

The great thing, though, is that I don't have to look at someone else's car every day so it doesn't matter to me what they order. If I was ordering right now, it would be MG/Red, but there are plenty of people who would probably never order a red interior. Everyone has different tastes. Debating colors makes for good discussions, though. |

This was almost my build and I would highly recommend it! I would love to have the tech packages for the gauges/apps but its not worth the 2+k (I use my phone for nav). I think for such a small cabin, the stock audio is great. I do wish I the car came with the drive assist options but it does have excellent visibility.

I went with EB/CR with some reservations, but I think I'll like it overall. I figured this is a three year deal, might as well go with something a bit more "daring", color-wise. Plus I'm coming from my E36 M3, which is EB/Black, so I didn't want to just move to the same combo. And from everything I've seen, terra looks like shit (literally). If it were the deeper brown that it looks like on the online configurator, I probably would have gone with it.
It may turn out that the Blue/Red combo is a bit much, but honestly I think I'll end up liking it. For a fun car, might as well go with some fun colors. |
