Window/rubber squeaks

Also there is a service bulletin to adjust the windows by several millimeters.

Problem mostly solved.

SO I just took 5mins and lubed the rubber gaskets with silicone spray around the doors, trunk and hood and took a drive on a bumpy road. That addressed about 90% of the problem. Leaving the glovebox door open solved another 5%. I'll just use some of that clear uhmw tape and that should work for the glove box door. I'm still getting an occasional groan from what I believe is the windshield. I'll bring that up with the dealer at the next oil change.

While Nextzett Gummi Phlege helped, I'm still looking for a better solution. I've ordered Krytox GPL 205 on Amazon. The reviews of this product on Amazon and recommendations on Bimmerfest make me hopeful that this product is the ultimate answer.

I've concluded that most of my misery has to do with the passenger side door. Rattles on bumps and vibrates like hell when the bass hits depending on the song.

My drivers side window was making noise. I used Honda Genuine Shin-Etsu Grease on the seals. The noises are gone. Ive had this grease since 2000 when I bought my S2000.

M235i owner.
Also having this issue and it's driving me insane.

Most annoying sound is the little "creaks" and "cracks" that come from the center dash / windshield from not even doing anything. Just sitting idle and you'll hear little popping or cracking all around, which I'm guessing is the climate control causing the plastic and synthetic sections to expand and contract?

Also noticed the drivers side door starting the creaks and annoying sounds especially when on bumpy roads. Steering wheel occasionally cracks and pops too, which I'm guessing is the hollow plastic?

Seriously, I know the main cost of this car is the engine, but a $52k sports car shouldn't be making this kind of noise at 3k miles

Anyone have a fix for the annoying "creaks" and "rubbing sound" coming from the passenger side door (near the back of it I think)?

I ordered some Gummi Phlege but I also saw someone mention something about a service issue with the window?

So I just got my m235i vert back from service yesterday. It was in for an oil and filter change at 1K miles (Service Indicator due to the car being over a year old in Sept., 2016) and they also performed a SIB repair where they inspected and reworked headliner straps. Of course the service also included a wash and cleanup. No "squeaks" or "creaks" when I dropped it off, but I noticed a drivers window friction squeak today driving it. I have the Gummi Phlege so I'll apply some and hope it takes care of everything. If not I guess the dealer can see what they can do.

What was SIB repair of convertible top? When I had my AW M235 vert in for repair of defective seat bolster today, a service bulletin for vert top was mentioned. However, they said they didn't know the details. I'd appreciate some insight in to this. Thanks

I have a 2016 M235i convertible, and I had the problem before the service bulletin. One of the straps holding the headliner in place broke, and the headliner sagged. That interfered with rear seat headroom and a bit with visibility. It also let the headliner rub against one of the hinges, and wore a hole in it.

In my case, the fix was to replace the headliner. It no longer sags, no longer rubs on the hinge, and rear-seat headroom is improved. I'm not sure what caused the strap to break in the first place, though.

Here is what was listed on my service receipt. Apparently they had the part there waiting for my vehicle to show up at some point for service. Hope this is helpful.

I had the same problem only the headliner got pinched in the hinge and ripped. At the time, the service adviser said that they had seen several of these problems and that the headliners were back ordered (this dealership's repair facility operates 24/7 with typically over a hundred cars under repair at at a time). All is fixed now, keeping my fingers crossed. As a side note my 2012 135i had a similar headliner problems in its first year.

My M235i experienced rattles that seemed to migrate occasionally. First noticed the rattles near the pillars then another time near the center of the dash. Just had my car coded and turned off the active sound feature. The rattles are gone, the cabin is much quieter and the sound system (seems) to be improved.

I was experiencing a rattle/squeaking sounds around the speakers on the driver side. Then a passenger noticed the same on their side on a smooth or rough road. Occasionally I noticed this same sound near the center dash speaker.
I had some coding done and one item was to turn off the active exhaust sound. No more rattle/squeaking sounds from the dash, the car interior is quieter and the HK system sounds better.
