Backpain when reaching for the seatbelt
I am having issue with having to reach back so far away to pull the seatbelt every time I drive the car, starting to have some back muscle ache.
Anyone got solution to this? Any of you guys added the seatbelt holder? They look so ugly though. |

I have had a few passengers cplain about the belt, does not bother me. Those look better than back pain. Once installed out would prob forget they were not OEM. Only downside is rear seat access.

Search my posts for something on convertible seat belt, can't find it on my phone right now. I bought and installed a phone belt clip of all things when my passenger belt was flapping around and making an annoying noise - worked great and was like $5 on amazon. You could maybe try the same thing by mount it forward towards the footwell.

Hellrot is on to it (and with such a wholesome moniker, what would I expect). Would you ask what type ofduct tape to use to seal up a leaky radiator hose? Trust me that this is the early sign of a true world of hurt, worth the time to avoid.

I have a simple solution for you - don't reach over your shoulder to grab the belt - reach DOWN and slightly back to grab the belt. It works wonders and it won't stress your shoulder. And you won't have the add that ugly seat belt holder.

I bought those same seat belt holders for my old E46 coupe. Didn't work worth a crap. The part that actually holds the belt always separated from the part that connects to the seat. Tried them for a few days and never used them again.

Sometimes I do miss the automatic arm that handed me the seatbelt in my E92.

Just an alternate fact: I was openly skeptical about the belt clips Rayscott is mentioning and confirmed they didn't make an ounce of difference for me, besides getting in my way sometimes. They are around $5 shipped so not a big loss if you still want to give them a shot. I wear a watch on my left wrist and don't like to play operation to avoid scratching the watch/car by reaching down. I just deal with over rotating to grab the belt over my shoulder.

I bought the seat belt holder from BMW. Lasted 25 minutes before I ripped it off. It's garbage. I have a problem unbuckling where the belt will fold and get stuck in the retracting mechanism. I don't think BMW spends much time on seat belt ergonomics.

Out of curiosity, what technique are you using. Over the shoulder for me is challenging due to a shoulder injury I sustained years ago. Instead I reach low and back to grab the belt. Works for me.
