NBT EVO RETROFIT f22 m235i
Hello, (excuse me for my english)
i wanna retrofit my 2015 f22 m235i with HU_ENTRYNAV to HU_NBT_EVO so i bought an used nbt2 evo from eBay. also, i bought the i drive touch module and the video cable that connects the nbt unit with the display. in some forums and tutorials i saw that people install a new cable harness with an emulator for navigation, voice... 1) it is necesary to install the emulator ? can i use the oem nbt harness ? some one from fscmap.com sells me the fsc codes to activate the navigation, apps, CarPlay etc for 170 usd. so my question is if i can use the oem harness add the wiring for the touch idrive controller. buy those codes and my nbt will work ? 1.1) the nbt will block itself because the vin doesn't match with the cars vin? 2) if i buy and install the emulator can i install those codes to get CarPlay bmw apps and all the other things fscmaps.com is offering to me ? 3) someone knows who can sell me south America maps ?(i am from colombia ) thank you im really confused with all this |

The emulator is needed only when the NBT is coded with another car's VIN and activation codes. However, since you can now purchase the activation codes for your own VIN for $170 there is no need for the emulator.
Nevertheless, you will probably still need an emulator temporarily for the duration when you initially connect the NBT to your car until it is loaded with the new activation codes and is coded with your VIN. Otherwise, you risk the NBT becoming VIN-locked. |
