Awesome! I can't remember a time when so many forum members had their car on the same boat. There are like 5 or 6 of us right?

800 Number Production Status
I called BMW's 1-800 Number for production status, the automated system indicates my M235i is estimated to be completed on 02/13/15
How do I find out what ship my car will be transported on? If it's scheduled for completion on the 13th, the car should arrive in America in approximately in a month? Guys I'm very excited. I'm looking forward to taking delivery. What's crazy is for the last year I've been looking forward to ordering a 228i and I actually end up ordering an M235i. I did a lot of research on the 228i. I've spent a lot of time driving several 228i's including some serious track time in an M-Sport 228i. I've driven a base 228i, a luxury model 228i and three separate 228i's, two with track pack. Get this, I've only spent approximately 5-6 minutes driving an M235i once. I drove the M235i down a busy service road and back up, no hard accelaration and the car didn't go over 50 MPH. See this-> <- That's how I've been feeling lately!

About the shipping info, the 800# folks may not be able to tell you which ship and/or dates till one is assigned. For instance, my car is currently waiting at the Bremerhaven port, waiting for assignment. I call 800 everyday, and they don't have shipping info yet, but they tell me they will have it once an assignment is done. So, hang tight, wait till production completes and your car reaches the port. As far as estimates go, it's approx 1 week (again, depending on which shipper, schedules, delays, etc) waiting at Bremerhaven + about 22 days (guess, based on transit times to West Coast) transit to Galveston + about 1 week for VDC, VPC, dealer detailing (depending on your distance from US port of arrival). If your car is a new model for the 2015 year (example, the convertible), the EPA will stall your delivery for up to a month (I heard March 13 as the release date for folks whose cars are at the port). So, Feb 13 + 1 week + 22 days + 1 week = Mar 21.

Hey, one more thing - you said automated system. I've found that it is usually a day or 2 behind. When you dial 800, ask to speak to a person ... they will always have the latest info available. Ask for a person, each time you call. They're only available during regular business hours though.

I just sprained the holy hell out of ankle playing basketball today, and I swear my first thought was, "At least I have 4 weeks for it to heal before my car gets here."

My entire foot is black and blue but already a day in it's much better, so I should have my clutch-foot in fine form by early March, phew!

uhh I heard that priority 1 cars (customer sold cars) can be at the dealership in as little as 2 days. I'm probably gonna say a week at the latest.

Mine reached the port on Thursday and my dealer said it would be ready next Wednesday. So yea, about a week, provided that your car wasn't damaged during shipping or have port installed options.

Thanks. The port is less than an hour away from my dealership, that's why I asked. I guess when it gets to the port, there is some things they need to do before they can release it.

There's a post I saw online about how they prep the cars after it comes off the car. If I remember correctly, they put this wax on the exterior of the car so that it won't get dings while in transit and they give it a hot bath to melt the wax and stuff. Let me see if I can find article.
