"The valves of the dampers adapt in milliseconds to the conditions of the road and the wishes of the driver, minimizing vehicle squat, dive, and roll, to ensure the BMW 228i Coupe feels equally at home on a smooth canyon road, unusually rough surfaces, or during the daily commute."
I don't see ON THE TRACK in this sentence...unless they mean it by "unusually rough surfaces".....call it a TRACK pack and then describe it as being better on everything except a track |

Ok, giving the good marketing folks at BMW USA the benefit of the doubt and assuming they're not History Channel junkies....
But, wow, the occult hobbies of Heinrich Himmler and company are really that far in the past that a company wants to associate itself with the concept of "Bavarian black magic"?? |

Somewhere, a new M235 owner is weeping. Why wouldn't they announce this option at launch? Oh yea, because it would have cut into the aforementioned 235 sales.
I must admit it does sound pretty neat. M2, you're up now! |

How would this be different than any other BMW model? The smaller, lighter engined cars always handled better than the same car with a bigger engine since the suspension is generally identical (328i vs 335i, for example). There's a long list of reasons why I prefer my 335 over my brother's 328, but there's no question that his 328i turns into corners much more eagerly because of the smaller N20 motor.

I would say this is a good gesture, but lack of LSD, and including adaptive steering is not good for the track. I don't want my ratios changing.

Is "mobility kit" the new euphemism for "spare tire?"

Not really. To me this doesn't sound all that different than a 228i you can already spec from factory or am I wrong? Don't care about the PSS, that's something I would have done anyway. This just sounds like it ticks a few options for you?

Exactly. All of this has been available as ticked options, minus the PSS tires, so all of this excitement is over PSS tires. BMW marketing is doing some amazing things in addition to the incorrect advertisement of the H/K and Comfort Access packages.

I must admit, i have been hammering BMW lately.
However this 228is!!!!!! I'll give them some props. Very nice to make a 28imodel have some significance. BMW is coming around listening to us enthusiast?!?!?!? Carry this to the rest of the line up 328is and 428is. Not everyone can afford the 335i's. Last..........please BMW give this the LSD

Although I think I would be tempted to code the active sound from a 35i into the 228i

I'm willing to let go of the spare tire "thing". My 04/06/09 Bmw's have been spareless.(lol is that a word?)
What BMW changed.....(sneaky, sneaky, sneaky) is-----> "A BMW Mobility Kit is featured as standard equipment, as is 24-hour BMW Roadside Assistance for the first four years of vehicle service." Notice anything different............?
