Desperate attempt to fix paddles shifters retrofit

Dear members, I have been wrapping my head around my yet unsuccesful paddleshifters retrofit. Please someone help .

Here's my checklist:
  1. Pre-wired? CHECK. There is one AWG22 cable running from FEM (pin5) to SZL (pin3).
  2. Coded FEM7/3190 paddles Verbaut = Active + 2TB
  3. Some forums claim that it is worth to check the resistance values with a multimeter. Here are my values for the left shifter: 0.9kOhm (unpressed), 0.268kOhm (pressed). For the rights shifter: 1kOhm (unpressed), 1175 kOhm (pressed)
  4. I might measure wrong here
  5. The harness cable was not orginal, but after exchanging some wires on the 3-pin connector, my steering wheel buttons started to work again.

How would I verify that either my harness cable (the remaining 6-pin) connector or shifters are faulty? Also see images.
