Second prototypes were fitted this week and slight modifications are being made. We should be getting together this weekend and will report back with any updates. We really appreciate the patience and feedback!

I haven't been keeping track with the thread- is thebstyle going to be similar to the lightweight lip or the MPE lip? (Thin vs chunky)?

All things equal I'd prefer an all carbon or carbon/kevlar construction with marine grade epoxy/vacuum bagged and not hand layed up......and avoid foam core construction like the plague so the inevitable delamination is not an issue.

Carbon/epoxy is easy to repair as well

What cost level are they going for though? That sounds in higher end bracket.

No clue....I havent seen anything mentioned in the thread

If I'm going to spend 500 or possibly more its not going to be for a piece of injection molded crap thats a pita to repair

Hey guys! I can't confirm exact pricing but we will be offering the black plastic version of lip under $450 and solid carbon should be under $800 as well. We will initially be launching the black plastic version and there will be 3 styles to choose from - essentially a subtle/sleek lip, a slightly more aggressive version (more dominant from the side profile) and then an aggressive version. Pricing will be slightly more on the aggressive lip as it's more intricate than the others, but we will confirm once we have the final prototypes complete. We are getting rather close and once the final prototypes are ready I will have them put on my car and get pictures, etc.

UPDATE WITH PICS:

Today we were able to mach up some prototypes - please note that these are not "final" and some slight adjustments need to be made, edges need to be radius, material being finalized, small dimension tweaks, etc. but we wanted to provide a progress update to everyone. Also, we only screwed in the two middle screws in the lips/splitters, and just used double-sided tape to get these mached up for the pictures, so it will obviously be tighter fit on the sides once it's screwed in entirely. Hope you like where we are headed - input is always appreciated!

Type I (sleek/subtle)

Type II (traditional splitter style)

Type III (aggressive style)

is it just me or type 3 is a big nono. I like m6 front lips if you are going for aggressive style.

I can try and grab some more pictures - any specific angle(s) you are looking for?

Also, everyone please keep in mind that the edges do not have a radius in the prototypes above but will have a nice rounded edge in lieu of the sharp edges which will definitely be more aesthetically pleasing. The final material will also be more of a polished gloss black look.

Type 3 is a hot mess with it's current "wavy" design. However, if you maintain a better relationship with the car's existing design language you could have a winner on your hands. You could have sharper corners, more deliberate convex/concave curvature decisions, etc.

My current vote would be in the general vicinity of Type 2, though.

Ya I mean with the first two we knew what we wanted - type i would be a very sleek with no side profile and type ii would be more of the same but exaggerated with a much more dominant side profile and more of your traditional splitter feel. Type iii we definitely want to do something that flows with the bumper, thus the initial attempt you see here. I think from head on angle you can see where we were trying to go, but we will definitely take a look and see if we can crisp up some lines and perhaps bring in the middle section in to have the side splitters be more prominent. Appreciate the feedback good/bad, as it will only help with the final product!

I really like like the third one. My only improvement would be to take out some of the curve on each side (left and right air ducts). All would look great tho!

If you can get the type 3 to match the lines of the OEM bumper (the side pieces) better then that would be my choice. Otherwise I like type 2.

Type 1 has already been done and is available.

Just a heads up we are reworking type 3 and will keep you guys posted!

Also, I've seen some similar versions to type 1, but they have a side profile whereas ours is in line with the bumper. Regardless, once we set up preorders all 3 will be available to choose from. We aren't just going to pick 1 and go with that exclusively. Thanks!

As the rest said type 3 sounds like it's going to be a winner with a bit more flow. I like the aggressiveness though.
