Xdrive fitment - how wide can I go?
Have been looking at some 18x8.5" ET38 w/ 235/40-18 PS4s which should fit fine on my 17' M240i x-drive.
Question is, can I go to a 18x9" ET42 to run 245/35-18s without camber plates or rolling fenders and not rub? I'm on stock (w/M adaptive) springs still, but have been considering H&Rs or Dinan. Currently running 15mm spacers all around on stock wheels with MPSA/S3+ in 225 PFA: Last edited by ifobd; 06-20-2018 at 06:24 PM.. |

I'd say if you don't want to run camber plate to acheive higher camber and don't want to roll fenders. 245 tires with a 40 offset is probably your best best, 38 offset might clear and 42 will be pretty close to the strut.
I am running 235 45 17 and will be running 245 40 17 next season on 40 offset wheels.

on a 8.5 it should be in the middle. If I could of got my wheels in 8.5 thats what I would of chose.. Quote:
I think it will clear the fender but it might not clear the strut in the front. Try to search google and the forums for ppl with similar setups

The 9 ET42 is likely to contact the strut in front. By the time you add a spacer large enough to clear the suspension, you're going to need camber plates and/or fender modification.

I am also aiming for a 245 18" square setup, which i planned to fit on some V703 8.5j ET40.
Planned to drop the car by a bit with a KW V1, but not to much. Wonder if it fits with stock camber. I know that it fits with an 8j wheel ET40, but not sure about an 8.5j width. Any experiences? |
