The cost of Carly compared to the others and what it offers are not that good.
Where you able to use the Carly OBD adapter with BimmerCode?
No, needed to get the one listed

Anyone have any additional personal experience with BimmerCode and Carly? My car is a 2015 M235i (June 2014 build).

I read that some of these options "don't stick" once I shut the card off. What features is this references?

Is there a "how-to" guide?

The only feature that doesn't 'stick' is the manual opening / closing of the exhaust valve and they are very clear that it's only a temporary change.

I've been using the Carly for a couple of months and, although pricey, it's decent. Limited as to what it can code, but it's very user friendly compared to having to lug my laptop out to the car. I like the sound of BimmerCode expert mode and hopefully Carly will add that feature.

Question: can someone connect their Carly and take a look at the ASD option? Take a read of the ASD ECU and tell me what the ASD options are...please!

Should be OFF, M3/M4, M5/M6...and 1 other one. I only see the 3 I've noted and I THINK there was a 4th option (but in my case it's gone...assuming I'm not mistaken)

Thanks

Mine only has the same three options you listed. I'm pretty sure it never had another. I've turned mine off but I've always wondered how I would set it back to M235i (without restoring from the backup file).

Thanks for checking much appreciated. I was thinking the same thing...guess you'd have to restore the backup.

So it appears the FEM, CIC and CSM modules still need to be added by MyCarly.
Do you have to be connected to vehicle to show which ECU modules Carly can code?
Yes

Hi,

I looked and looked and could not find the options to:
- unlock doors when engine is turned off
- turn off HU when I open the door
Think the above was possible but somehow could not find the area to do so in the Carly app

Pretty sure it's in FEM_BODY module...that's where my "cheat sheet" shows it to be. I did my coding with E-Sys, as Carly wasn't fully functional with the F2x series at the time (March of 2016).

For android, can you use the basic Elm327 bluetooth OBDII adapter with Carly, or, does it have to be the white plastic one on their website that says Generation II?

You have to use Carly's Gen II adapter with Carly for BMW on Android to code. It won't work otherwise, and they clearly state that on their website.

Ok, thanks.. Just wasnt sure if it was required to work, or just a highly marked up regular OBDII adapter. Ill get one..

New Carly update for iOS - added Video playback via USB port (amongst other things) - I’ve been waiting for this one and can confirm mkv playback all working - nice early Christmas present.

Latest Carly for BMW (Android) now shows ASD as a separate module, and offers the following for my 2016 228i convertible:

Off
Current Value
M3/M4
M5/M6
Rolls-Royce V12

Does it happen to give you an enable option as well as disable?

The display shows 5 checkboxes...I would assume that if you un-check the box for "off", it will then enable it to the previous setting or let you choose one of the alternates.
