Agreed buddy, I 'bailed out' onto the M4 party bus. Bigger car but I do quite a bit of Motorway driving so the longer wheelbase suits...and well its a hell of car also!

I can see me with an M2 in the future too though.

Now that forum name needs some work, just changed it from ChesterM4 doh!

Agreed. Something about the hood is off - the rest looks pretty good.

I still feel like it's an accordion that's been squished together too much - maybe that's the hoods throwing me off again, but the dimensions look a little strange somehow.

I feel BMW should make the M2 and then lend it to MB or Audi to help it look expensive with final touches and details.

Mercedes is excellent at making things look like disco balls with extra chrome etc.

Maybe with the interior but there aren't any renders out yet so I'm assuming you're referring to the exterior. If that's the case, I STRONGLY disagree. I'd rather not have the M2 with soft curves or any chrome to speak of.

M2 should be nasty.

HOLD THE PHONE FOR JUST A SECOND.

Looks like the LCI of the 3 series is getting the L shaped rings

But get this... the "L" shaped rings aren't being limited for the Laser headlights

The normal LED headlights are looking like the ones on the 4 series concept!

This is awesome news for the M2 I'd assume the headlight rings on the M2 will look similar! So excited.

Also, the rear tail lights mimic the 4 series concept as well.

Scott... any comments on whether these LCI improvements will show on the M2? Perhaps updated taillights for the M2 as well?

Speaking as a North American customer, let me be very clear about this... Build/equip this car right, and it will sell well-enough, AND bring enormous returns to BMW in terms of regaining credibility that they can still deliver the magic like they used to. This "North America wants luxury above all else" stance is really starting to take it's toll on BMW's claim at being the Ultimate Driving Machine.

The M2 is an opportunity for BMW to really make a statement. A call to the enthusiasts to signal that the brand is still committed to providing light, nimble, precise, performance-focused cars we can get excited about. The M2 shouldn't be about selling as many copies to the masses as possible; there are plenty of other models for that. (Not every car needs to be a cash cow.) This car can be a sort of mid-lineup halo car for BMW... one that they can point to and say, look what we can accomplish: for 55k you can have a car that can hang with a Cayman R and base 911 around the track, but still seat 4 comfortably.

The 3 series is no longer one of Car and Driver's 10 best, after 23 years running... Instead, the smaller, lighter, less luxurious 2 series has been chosen. This should send a clear message: the brand has softened too much, and it's starting to affect BMW's reputation, which will be followed by sales. Now more than ever, BMW needs to build a true driver's car.

I agree 100% but BMW does not want to be the udm any more but rather sell as many cars as possible. We all know it and it sad for enthusiasts. Fortunately there are other options.

Look very closely. They are. When I'm at a computer I will zoom in on the image and point it out. It's very hard to see.

Edit: the reason it is hard to see, is because the horizontal part of the "L" is 90% covered by the camo that covers the part of the headlight that connects to the grill.

Also, look at the outer ring. The right side of the outer ring does not make a full circle like they used too. Just like on the 4 series concept.

Do you see it now? I am 100000% sure that I am correct. Lol.

Here you go, hopefully this makes it more clear. Feeling better now? :happy anim:

I agree. If these make it to production (which it looks like they will, as the tail lights are CLEARLY being upgraded), then we've got a winner.

That would certainly make the $1900 price tag more justifiable for sure

When we talk LED headlights. Is this what we are talking about making it onto the M2?

Its not so much BMW is shifting away from its roots, its where the game is headed. With all of the new emission regulations every manufacture will be forced to go turbo charged pretty soon. I feel they did an outstanding job of maintaining their M roots. I've driven the e92 M3 countless amount of times, on a racetrack and on the road and when I compare it to my M4 I don't think my car lost some of its M DNA, I actually feel its the best M car yet. Look man.. this happens with every new generation M car, you get the previous generation guys bash the new one until they make the trade themselves.

Now this guy saying the new M3 drives and sounds like a 335 is ignorant, He clearly has never been behind the wheel of the F80. I also own a 335is.. the one with the N54 engine and hydraulic steering and My M4 handles and sounds nothing like it.
+1.

I too felt the same way walking away from a test drive of the M4, where I was able to drive it hard and truly wring it out on some b-roads, highway, off ramps. Net, it was dynamically better than my E92. I can't wait to try it out on the track next season

We know that LED headlights will be on the M2 (Scott has confirmed this, and it would be absolutely RIDICULOUS if they were not offered on a true M car).

But based on these recent photos, it seems like the LED headlight rings will be changing from the squircles like on the current-day M4 to the ring design on the 4 series concept.

Yes, but USA does not get that intelligent high beam that they get. Only get the high beams on and off, but not the beams splitting left and right

I think you'll get it. It's a neat feature for sure, but don't know how much you guys pay to upgrade the headlights.

P.S. I'm getting tired to death waiting for new pics. Seriously, this is not fun anymore
