228i Specs for the Ultimate Driving Event (UDE)

Anyone know if the 228i that BMW uses for UDE has the track package?

If they are 2015 models then they most likely do have the track package. I remember when I had gone to the UDE. Every single 228i had the bigger brakes and m-sport. That is what prompted me to equip my car the way I did.

No, they don't have the track package. They are plain m-sport automatic 228i.

Somebody should bring a VIN.

I think they're just plain m-sport automatics too. We had the silver 228is and they didn't have the darker rims, so I'm thinking they didn't have the track package.

Darker wheels come with the sport line. These Msports are equipped with the same options as the track package. (Minus PSSs) These 228s are maxed out performance wise.. Including big brakes and adaptive suspension. If the track package comes with darker wheels (which I'm unaware of) then sure, I suppose that could make it a "plain" 228 msport. But you can bet those dark wheels don't make it handle any different. Not sure which tires they use at the event. My friend who attended the event said they used cheaper tires considering they probably didn't last more than a day.

2015 USA track pack comes with:
225/245/ PSS tires,
Ferric Grey 461m rims or the sport rims,
Msport brakes,
Var steering,
Adaptive susp.

Not bad for $1600 on top of the Msport pkg.

(the $650 Msport brake option is no longer avail in USA)

I'm pretty sure these are maxed out 2014's hence the lack of PSS and ferric grey wheels.

Hmmmm interesting. I thought the 228i handled well during the event. Although it was almost too easy to kick the rear out.

Tires were definitely not performance tires.

Ours had all season tires on 'em, so I kind of expected that traction wouldn't be the best - but still the 228i hung on pretty well on the turns.

They're just a grayer version of the same 461m wheels (ie. ferric). You can see 'em on the BMW configurator. And as I mentioned these cars weren't even running summer tires.
