Car got hit on Thanksgiving

Well I was just cleaning the car yesterday and wouldn't you know it, my mom hooked my car up with some paint removal!

Looks like she accidentally swiped my rear bumper, took a few chunks out of the paint and some nice scratches. I tried to fill them in the best I could.

Just posting to vent a little

Sorry to read that.
It is a bumper, so either let it slide or maybe repair or a new bumper - not too difficult to install a bumper yourself after having it painted

Going to let it slide for sure, after I filled in the worst parts it doesn't look too noticeable. Here's picture. Ready for the ridicule for me being so crazy about my car lol

Sorry to hear, little things like that are inevitable, but the first one definitely hurts the most. If it makes you feel better I have been out of my car for 5 weeks after a stranger hit me and I would pretty much do anything just to have the car back.

Easier to replace a bumper than a mom.

Your Mom sounds a little like mine. Years ago I get a call from a Policeman asking about an accident on such and such a date involving my pristine Fiat Spyder sports car. I say "What accident????" Eventually we determine that it occurred while Mom was borrowing the car. Fortunately, there was no real damage. Then another time I pick my car up after she borrowed it again and notice that the paint on the rear quarter panel doesn't match the gorgeous pristine paint everywhere else.

She said a garbage truck hit it at her house.

That sucks but it's life. Driving a car will lead to it getting little chips like this. We are buying a driving machine not a piece of museum art but it still hurts.

That's terrible luck! I'm sorry to hear it.

But it happens to all of us at some point or another. Some metal debris from a car accident hit my driver's side rocker panel today and dented it. In hindsight, I was lucky there wasn't more damage. Just ordered the part ($300 post tax), then I gotta get it painted and installed...
