would this work on a F20 125i? cause what it's missing is engine character from the n 20 engine. Cause it sounds like a diesel on idle hope that can help bring the sound of engine more

MG 228i
does yours sound like diesel in idle?

Wow sounds great! A perfect note not too loud not quiet. It transformed the ultra quiet 228 OEM exhaust. Very nice and tasty mod!

How did you connect the MPE exhaust to the rest of the 228i exhaust? Did you use the clamp like on the 35/45i line cars or had it fabricated and welded together? Would really like to know, perhaps I can talk my wife to letting me do it on her 228

Your video clearly shows that it is possible.
Right!! This actually sounds freakin amazing! I'm going to catch flack like crazy for this next statement, but dare I say this sounds even better to me then the F80/82 M3/4 flame suit is on..

.I love the f80 and I don't even mind the exhaust note BUT there are other lesser cars out there that sound much better.

What I want to know is, do all 228i autos get pale shifters?.....my dealer told me that only M235i autos got paddles 😔
All 2015's M sport cars get the paddles with the sport trans. The 14 models it wasn't the case you had to opt for it.

If my memory serves me right when we were ticking the boxes on my wife's 2015 this was what I learned because it drive me nuts looking for this option, but it was nowhere to be found since the 228 M sport came standard with them on the sport trans.

I remember her test drive a 14 m sport without the sport trans and no paddle shifters. I told her you have to get the sport trans.

Clamp can't be used.

Here's how it is connected:

Sounds no different from the 328i MPE from what I can tell on Youtube, but I prefer the dual exhaust look.

You'll need the M235i rear bumper insert ($100 shipped from SunAuto), extend the two hangers on the muffler (it lines up, but you'll need to extend them so there is no tension), and an exhaust fabricator to weld and connect the muffler to the piping since it does not line up perfectly.
Took about 90 minutes to install, just find a shop that fabricates exhausts.

What's the website for SunAuto? I googled and searched it and can't find it.

I plan on using the clamp when I do mine. I know the MPE M235i system is 80mm in diameter and the stock 228i system is 75mm in diameter. My plan is to slit the 80mm pipe, 2 slits opposite of one another, and then use some acousti-seal and clamp it down around the 75mm pipe. By slitting the larger pipe, it should give it enough (it's only 2.5mm) room to tighten firmly against t75m smaller 228i pipe.

Once the Supersprint section 2 arrives I'll do a write up with photos.

Awesome stuff!

This sounds a lot better than I expected it to for a I4. Props to the OP for a cool mod.
