The best part? It doesn't sound like a John Deer!

Alright guys, hear me out. Someone mentioned it earlier, and I noticed the same exact thing.

I think that on 1 of the cars in this video, there are rear vents. The same black spot exist on one of the cars. First pic: Both mules. There is a black spot from this angle on one of the mules:
This first image, you see it on the driver side. The next images, it is on the passenger sides.

Now, you'll have to watch the video for yourself. But go to 33 seconds, and look at that area. You will see, that as the car goes through the turn, it seems as if the color of that spot is suggesting that we are looking into the wheel well. Compare the color of the spot with the apparent color of the tire (it shifts from black to grey, and so does the spot).

I am not convinced. It's just something I noticed and very odd that this color shifting black spot exists on ONE of the test mules... (why I do not know). If you watch that black spot at 33 seconds, you'll see it. Someone else noticed it too. Would love to hear comments.

well I meant the real kind, but I am sure that we will get some sort of mixture between real and "enhanced" sound.

I noticed the same thing. We could be looking at the M2 and M2 CSL (minus CF roof, etc) being tested at the same time?

Hmm, I looked at it a few times again and as much as I would like to see a vent there, I think it's a 'swirl'. Looking at the attachment you can clearly see that there are no real edges where the spot ends, if you know what I mean.

Another thing I noticed is, that each of the cars (HF-5400 & KJ-5137) only has that black spot on one side. Why would they test a vent only on one side?

That was me. I had noticed it three or 4 times in the vid. It may or may not be a vent. And I doubt that it is the CSL version. I think that may come with the BMW GT6 look, aka the 3.0 Hommage.

Looking at it again, I don't think it's a vent, because the colors of all the black spots lines seem to fade as the car turns. Maybe there's a small glimmer of hope still, but I'd be really surprised.

That M2 test mule (M-HF5400) already confused us in the past.

Though it's tempting to think that it features air vents (when compared to those sporting the BMW Vision Concept GT6), to my eyes it's just camo swirls.

I hope NextGen gets to look exactly like the GT6 concept so I can just hand my wallet to BMW!

I agree. The way I feel personally, 90% chance of camo swirls, 10% chance of vents.

I would say it's 100% no vents

Looks like more than swirls to me. Im not sure which exact mule but at points in the video you can see it's on both sides. Is it a vent, doubt it but i wouldn't be surprised if its a faux-vent contour line.

I concur. It seems to be merely an optic effect due to the angle.

Keep an eye on the four camo dots/swirls forming a rectangular shape, especially camo dot/swirl #3.

The swirl in front of the right rear fender is the same pattern as the swirl a bit over a foot further forward. Not seeing evidence of a vent. A possible explanation for why it's not the same on both sides is the camo may not have been applied with the pattern in the same location on both sides of the car.

It also doesn't even make sense to have an intake there. The only reason I can think of is a rear air curtain. Normally you wouldn't want air going into the wheel well as it causes lift. Rear brake cooling is not an issue.

The simple fact that there seems to be so much depth on that swirl goes to show just how aggressive the flare is on that Arch!!
When this thing is unveiled, oh lord, I am going to nurse a chubby for days...
Sounds fantastic as well.
DP and axle back on the cards DEFINITELY!!!

They do layer foam underneath the camo wrap to create false features and lines. Thats the whole point of the camo. Those won't be intakes on the side.

I don't think it's a vent, because I don't think it would make sense to put an vent in that location for this car

I don't think it's a vent either, it's definitely a camo swirl.

Now, I really wish we could see the front fender vents a little more! They're covered extensively.
