I seem to have the No Connection error 70% of the time I drive. A lot of those times are at around 6:00pm or rush hour. I had a comm unit replaced after 2 weeks of owning the car. So now I don't know if these connectivity issues are another comm unit problem or just a flaky online service or congested 3G networks. Also my BMW remote can't send addresses to the car nor can google send to car. I used to be able to send with the original comm unit. The original had an SOS malfunction so was replaced. I'm not sure if those issues are related.

I know these are not related to driving the car, but Isn't this a premium car? Just not happy. :

The 3G is terrible. MY Iphone will barely bring up a web page when I am stuck in an area that is 3G

I talked to a BMW Genius and he told me that the Connected Drive services are down for many vehicles. He said most have no function at all with the Remote app. I had some function, but can't send messages from the app or receive messages through iDrive. He said to give it a few business days, then refresh the app, then resubmit my security code since I tried removing my car from the Connected Drive portal and re-adding it. To add it, you need to enter a security code that is sent to the car as a message. I can't receive messages so i can't add the car back at this point. I will try again in a few days to see what happens.

Can anyone else confirm that their Remote app has lost functionality or are you able to still receive messages in the car?

Send to Car has stopped working for me too, both from the Remote App and from Google Maps directly. Google Maps says that it sent the address successfully, and it does work when sending to my phone instead of to my car, so it definitely looks to be on the BMW side. The Genius could not determine what was wrong...

Other functions seem to work OK from the Remote App (have used the fan start and location functions).

Neither my 2015 M235i or my wife's 2012 328i have received locations sent from from Google Maps or BMW Remote for a couple of weeks now. I can still trigger the ventilation fan on the M235i from BMW Remote, but it fails about every other time.

This is getting frustrating--these things were advertised features. If they don't work reliably, they are pointless.

It turns out that my "send to car" and send locations from the BMW Remote app problems were due to the TCB (Telematics Control Box) needing a firmware update. My dealer worked with the BMW Connected Drive guys to figure this out. My TCB was replaced on my June Build 2015 m235i due to an SOS Malfunction. Normally the replacement TCB would have the latest update, but for some reason, mine did not. As a result, it was not able to function properly. After the firmware update, it now works perfectly. The firmware update fixes a compatibility issue with changes that Google made on the location web services (API). The Remote app and Google's send to car feature both use this API. I can't remember exactly, but the firmware version was upgraded from 15.3 to 15.7 (something like that). You may want to ask your dealer to check the firmware and if it is less than 15.7, then get them to upgrade it. I will try to get the exact version and then edit the post.

The shop foreman also found out that BMW has been having issues with RITTI (traffic info) and online widgets. He forwarded an email to me from BMW Connected Drive that says that BMW and a 3rd party are working to resolve the outages. They primarily happen during high volume times such as rush hour.

For me, my weather widget never works on my drive home from work, but is fine in the morning.

I just looked up an address in Google maps and sent it to my car. Will see if it pushes thru. I have never had a problem with it working......the widgets are on/off so I really do not use it anymore. The weather looks cool but it is really inaccurate in my area. my issue is the intermittent call/static performance.....but I can't get them to replace anything cause they never can duplicate the issue and always blame the iphone
