Replacing the rusting black exhaust tips?

My OEM exhaust tips (black) suffer from the same peeling/corrosion my F10 with M-sport package did. I'd like to get my Dealer to replace them with regular chrome (silver) ones, but they have problems finding the right ones in their BMW parts catalog. Hence the question to you fellow users:

- do you know if the regular, silver chrome tips (e.g. from 228 w/o Sport package) are the same diameter?

- if I insisted on the ones that come with MPE, I *think* there is a need of some intermediate part between the M235i OEM pipes and the MPE (silver or carbon) tips; does anyone know the P/N?

Thanks for your help in advance

Piotr

Replace them with the BSM 3.5" tips for the F22/F23.
They come in chrome, black chrome or burnt Titanium in straight or angle cut.
I got the black chrome angle cut and they look great.

The 228 tips are much smaller. The chrome tips found on the M235 go with the MP exhaust only. They're far more expensive than the OEM black chrome tips as well ($90+USD each). With that said, BMW says they won't fit the non-MP exhaust but.......they should. Why? Because guys have run the OEM black chrome tips on their MP exhaust. That means the exhaust piping diameter is more or less the same between the two exhaust systems.

In the future, I'd recommend thoroughly washing the tips and removing them occasionally to do a full cleaning. The reason the tip finish is degrading is salt usage in the winter.

I clean the black tips on my 228ix regularly with a mild polish and they show no sign of peeling or corrosion.

Wow a 2015 with rust. I guess it's a climate thing.
