Anyone else get a BMW USB drive in the mail?

It would be an ingenious attack. It wouldn't be hard to obtain a list of new BMW owners and 3D print the casings.

I'm waiting for the day when vehicle hacks become more common, especially in 4G/LTE-connected vehicles. Auto manufacturers need to be more proactive and build firewalls into their software.

On that note, I digress.

The USBs are good for storing your driver profiles so you can restore the settings easily or if you get a loaner car. Other than that.....

I received the USB drive this week. I find it to be an utterly useless "gift" with obnoxiously gratuitous packaging. In the future, just send me a coffee mug or something.

Mine came in yesterday. Agreed on the packaging. Good grief BMW.
However, I am impressed that the casing is actually metal. Too bad it's too small capacity to be of any real use.

What a bunch of ingrates! I like mine. I can put it to good use and because it's metal and has some heft to it, it anchors the ring with the few keys I need to carry around quite well and won't get swept off a table or otherwise dropped or neglected without my noticing.
