This GT4 is getting juicier and juicier. Something tells me they are both going to show up in Geneva at the same time.

Still can't afford one unfortunately

I'm absolutely shocked that this car is starting at $84k, wow. It's way out of my budget, but this is a good $20-30k less than what I thought it would be. I can absolutely see this in my garage in a couple of years.

Makes me wonder if I really need an M2 right now or save up...

This one is going to sell out!

Good news Pete_vB : The front axle and suspension are borrowed from the 911 GT3 and the rear axle and forged aluminium double wishbone suspension are completely new

smart move by Porsche! This car is going to sell like crazy. M2 is going to be much cheaper though with hopefully similar power/ fun. Still cant beat Porsche though!

The only thing that's stopping me from ditching the M2 for the GT4 is the price. I can't afford such an expensive car right now, not unless a get a job in the US. However, on every other level, this car is simply perfect. Reading through the Autocar article you really get the feeling that no limits were imposed on the design and performance numbers. A lot of parts are taken directly from the GT3, and some are completely new designs. Nordschleife laptime is officially at 7:45, although I've also seen 7:40 on other sites.

Wow... this looks to be pretty much perfect. And hard to believe the price - if only my budget were $20k higher!

Agreed...

This is a pretty serious "more for less" offering from Porsche; let's hope BMW is paying attention vis-à-vis the M2.

This one is worth stretching the budget, and also you hardly ever lose money on Porsche GT cars, I'd bet my own money, this will cost less to own than M2/3/4 over 4-5 years.

Although not really comparable on paper, I think this car may make the M235i Racing unnecessary for club racers or trackers. It certainly makes me think twice (x4) about the 235i Racing.

Yummy.... I wish the M2 would take this philosophy, but in the BMW way.

I will take this car over every BMW in the line up currently and foreseeable future.

Thank you Porsche. Drivers car FTW.
I will DEFINITELY own one, when they are cheaper. Ha! Ha!

I don't understand

I love the no nonsense approach at Porsche, and it's making me think hard about where to put my money now.

I don't understand why BMW resigned to make great sounding natural aspirated engines that produce 400hp/400nm a la GT4, when Porsche is doing exactly that and they are not upsetting the balance of a lightweight car, and they are not bringing up the the emissions argument...

I do understand that they have different philosophies but I'm still disappointed with BMW.

Porsche has sad, YES we care about emissions, that's why they are starting to turbo charge all the Carrera's next year, BUT their hardcore cars for enthusiast is going to be an awesome NA high revving engine, that will provide you aural pleasure and deliver gobs of performance.

I mean besides making it a manual only car at the launch LOOK at that steering
wheel, no buttons, nothing fancy, just a cool package for the enthusiast without any BS.

My god that's a car. Simply amazing, this will sell out quick. Has me thinking if I could cope with a 2 seater and a beater, stunning!

EXACTLY!!!!
A steering wheel that is there to steer the car, that's all. No need for buttons and cruise control and nuclear sequences and and and...
This car just went straight to the top of my future car list!
As soon as it makes the affordability list Im there.

I love Porsche as much as BMW, so this gt4 is absolutely my kind of a car. But I've got back down to earth this morning. It's just completely out of my budget, considering I hope to be in an M2 with discounts and other stuff in the high 40k's (For a stripped out version).

I will for sure say that this car will be one I'll get used some time in my life though

I'm all about stretching budgets and being irresponsible. But we are looking at a price gap prob closer to $30k.

I'm crazy, but even on a bad day I can't stretch my budget like that

One day though! Back to looking at M2 spy pics for me

If I could afford one as a weekend car I'd be all over it, but it's not practical as a DD - even the Cayman S gets to be annoying for my short commute.

With Porsche's a-la-carte pricing you're not getting out of the dealership at 85k - it'll be closer to 92/94 - add tax and you'll be spending 6 figures.

One of my friends is trying to get on all the lists for this car as soon as he saw the final pricing and pics. Needless to say, there's already a line
