I can live with AW or MG, I'm more concerned about the seats, if they don't have lumbar support I don't want one, may sound silly but without that I get back pain in a hurry so I couldn't enjoy driving it

Or a hat tip to the past: white + Bavarian Blue + Castrol Red + violet (mix of BB and CR).

Those colors would be super cool too.

Don't get me wrong, I really like some of the new colors BMW is coming out with. Sakhir orange, Yas marina blue, azurite blue are all incredible. But I figure keep those colors for the M4.

Can't see it not really but who knows if there are bespoke light seats. Both 1 and 2 series as you know can have lumbar.

The passenger seat of one of the M2 test mules was covered. SCOTT26 referred to this ("here is something new. Why are the front seats covered? "): http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showp...2&postcount=88

That's to hide the centenary 'tartan and paisley' along with the M lighting logo.

Conservative colors are fine with me but I find the choices a little confusing. This car is supposed to introduce M models to new buyers. As such the colors should appeal to young professionals. On the other hand maybe the M235 has been such a success that the target audience for the M2 has been tweaked to a different demographic. Hard to imagine that being the case.

For me MG is the only color I want, the blue will likely be very nice as well. I actually passed on buying a 1m because I didn't like the colors offered. I am sure I am in the minority for sure..

It is possible, it's been done before.

I totally agree with you that a more vivid color should be offered. 100%

Don't be like that IEDEI. Not all M235i owners are jealous. I have love for every car you mentioned. But your comment did get me to thinking..."how many M badges do I have on my car?" So I counted:
1 on each wheel
1 on each door sill
1 on the trunk
1 on the steering wheel
1 on the shifter
1 on the engine cover
That's a total of 10 and most of those are very subtle. Be that as it may, I have to disagree with your assertion that the M235i is an "ordinary" car. Heavy yes. Ordinary? No way.

BMW Individual is not offered at BMW Leipzig. Mere mortals like you and me can forget about getting other colors than those on offer. Alike the 1M, and except if stated otherwise by BMW, it looks like BMW will decline requests for another exterior color than those on offer (except if you have a truly exceptional relationship with BMW and significant deep pockets).

The 1M was built 6309 times. Here are the known few exceptions to the "No BMW Individual" rule:
1 x Sepang Bronze
1 x Techno Violet
2 x Atacama Yellow
2 x Monte Carlo Blue
2 x Polaris Silver
3 x Java Green (one with the Black Mamba stripes)

It was a time-consuming, expensive manufacturing process to get each of these 1M cars a different color than AW, BSM or VO.

Just saw an X6M in LBB in bright sunlight and it was very disappointing. It's way too soft looking for an M car. I guess it will have to be MG or another AW. I guess we can all hope that there's been a mistake or change of heart and that more colors will be offered.

This would make for quite an exceptional color selection and would also make a statement about the roots of ///M cars. Bummer marketing didn't think of this!

I am pretty disappointed in the color selection though. As others have pointed out they're really only giving us one color and varying shades of gray (says the guy that's only purchased white, gray, and black cars previously).

Can someone who's seen the LBB comment on how flashy it is? Let's say compared to AY.

I have AY now because it was the best of the three color choices. I really really want a color other than AY for the M2 but if my choices were limited to AY and LBB, I'd go with AY every time. To me it's even flashier than VO but then, based on the number of votes for LBB over AY and MG, it seems like a lot of people want the blue because at least it's not monochrome. Having seen both LBB and MG in bright sun, I think I could get used to gray.....even if it isn't the preferable DG.

Thanks a ton for your input! I also prefer DG over MG but sdaly it won't be offered as you mentioned it's a very limited selection. I'm debating between LBB and MG and since they're such different animals I'm having trouble choosing.

I'd say AY and LBB are on the same level. Especially when it's bright out, you can see them for a mile away. They are very flashy colors, and are very polarizing as you've seen on the forums. I happen to really really like both.

10 badges too many. feels nothing like an M car from my experience behind the wheel of one.

I haven't seen AY in person, but I saw LBB at the last LA auto show and it seriously looks like something from the Mattel Hotwheels collection. I don't like it at all. I would have picked Santorini over this.
