Uh oh. Brilliant news but you are absolutely right. If this is something over and above the M2 it'll never make it here. I'll be there in a few months and if the info about all of this is still sketchy, I shall do my best.....

Scott wrote in a post while in Geneva that he saw two M2s. One is what we are expecting and another has "flare" and stylish cues from the car in the photo. BMW could be have been planning this M2 CSL from the get go.

Doesn't sound stupid at all. I waiting for the LCI m4, or maybe a Competition pack model. This car is also on my radar as of now.
Wait for comp pack. LCI is gonna give you LED tail lights lol

Interesting, Scott do you know if both versions will be available right away? Would be nice if the choice was there from the get go.

This is my first post so I hope I'm not breaking any protocals. We are also waiting for the M2 so we thought we would build our own for now. We have built two and the results have not disapointed. We start with a 6 speed M235, add the BMW LSD, using everything Dinan offers stated power is 370HP and 435lb/ft torque. Lowered suspension, monoball bushings and a few othe r details and the cars are rockets. Can't wait to see final product from BMW.

That is some big news.Sounds like BMW really is going all out with the design of the M2.Are you able to give any hints of the styling differences of the two cars?

The M2 is standard M. Muscular front and rear with striking and unique aerodynamics.
The Secondary car is a slimmer variant of the Vision GT car more in tune with the width of the M235i Racing Car.

I'd doubt it Colin if looking back at any other M.....suits me as I could wait it out till end of next year

Very exciting news though, my god if it's nearer the Vision GT as I said all along, I'm in fir my first 'keeper' non lease car

So the question is will the wider, lighter, probably faster one be the car to wait for? Or will it not be as good as a Daily driver, will it be much more expensive etc etc...

http://www.worldcarfans.com/11503199...m-model-likely

Weight should drop from the M235i's 1,530 kg (3,373 lbs) to 1,400 kg (3,086 lbs) which should enable the M2 run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 4.4 seconds before topping out at an electronically-capped 155 mph (250 km/h) or more with an optional M Driver's Package.

Call me skeptical..

Indeed, fir DD M2 I think, the hotter are if a CSL might just have 2 seats etc.

On another theme, the E9 CSL and the vision GT both have that nicely placed BMW roundel after the C pillar. I think that might make it onto the M2 CSL?
