Mark Oct 14, 2015 in your agenda. Something may happen that day.

Not knocking the M2, I have a feeling I'll be having one at some point. Waiting longer to see what happens with the pinkelephantunicorn M2 CSL.
Not long to wait now. It will look and drive amazingly.
Congratulations. Drive it in good health.

So you ate the marshmellow ?

Ive never understood what all the rage is with alfa romeo and "beauty". I actually think the Giulia looks like a 3 series clone with an alfa grille. Its a step in the right direction for them and does look to have great specs, but I'm not blown away by it as a piece of rolling artwork.

In my opinion, the gulia is light years ahead of the 3 series in styling. I think the 3 series may be the ugliest sedan in its class nowadays.

Hmmm. All subjective, but: Its a nice looking car from all angles bar the front, which is borderline repulsive. Im not saying the 3 series is better looking by any stretch, I'm just bemused at the fan club alfa romeo has with regards to its styling, and the less said about its historic quality and reliability the better. A lot of what they produce looks little more than weird. The Mito and Giulietta are more bug eyed and foul than not. Plus, some of the past designs, looking at you Alfa Romeo RZ, could put anything Bangle could spew out to shame.

Im still number one at my dealer for one (currently have an m235i) but man that back bumper is ugly.... at least in the renders. If it ends up looking like that i'll take a hard pass.

If it is offered only with leather interior it will be posers M and I will seriously consider gt350 and Cayman but I am waiting for the official specs.

As a previous 1M owner I'm still very exited by the M2. All of the negativity around the N55 is a pure repeat of the N54 for the 1M.

I'm even chuffed with LBB as I'm a big Atlantis fan and this will get me very close without the Individual costs (not that it was even going to be available).

No1 at my stealer and can't wait for the reveal which is just before my birthday

I agree 100% to me the 3 looks so dated already. The Alfa is so far ahead of the 3 it is scary.

Timing was ultimately the deal breaker, since I had a pretty concrete timeframe as to when I wanted a new vehicle, and this was going to miss it bigtime. That said, assuming the latest rumor list and renders are correct:

The engine is disappointing, but, looking at the price range it has to go to bat in, unsurprising. I hope they give it enough S55 goodies to differentiate it from a standard N55 with a tune, but I can't say I'm confident that will happen. If the 1M is any indicator, the reworked suspension should be awesome. Glad it gets the LSD standard.

Looks are.... eh. Love the bulged out fenders, but the front and rear look less appealing than that of the M235i. Color choice is annoyingly limited, although that seems to be the trend outside of the M3 and upwards (at least AW and MGM are pretty universally good looking colors). CF roof would have been a nice touch, however like the S55, understandably absent in its price range. Interior also gets an 'eh'. I don't expect a M3/4 interior to be magically shoehorned into the 2er, but using the same seats as the M235i with just a blue line of stitching added is a bit underwhelming.

It looks to be a good follow-up for the 1M faithful, but unless it shows up sub $55k for a base car (and if it can actually be bought from a dealership for that price, which I doubt it will), I would personally be more drawn to a minimally-optioned M3.

Has this been "confirmed" by any "reliable" sources? I know it's the generally accepted view on this forum but I'm just wondering where that information is coming from because everything else about the M2 launch and development seems to be following the 1M release to a tee.
