Swapping the interior trim is a 15 minute job if you want to do it after the fact.

True, but the only reason I wanted to change it was because by adding the M Sport pkg, my trim options changed... And I really wanted the M Sport for the steering wheel more than anything else..

Now that M Sport is out of the equation, I guess I'll just keep what I had on my original order.. Finewood ... Unless I find it being really fugly. LOL

BTW, Anyone know how much weight the M Sport package added or removed compared to not having it? I'm just wondering....

I don't know all the pluses and minuses, but the MSport rear spoiler must be .5 to .75 of an ounce.

Then, take a look at the MPerformance version instead!

My question is.. How close? I had my CA send me a screenshot of the production status and it shows it went into production on 3/31... Friday, not today.

It's kind of madding to me that I'm hearing it can take up to 2 weeks to build a BMW. In this day and age, why does it take so long? Last 2 vehicles I factory ordered took less than 48 hours. One took less than 24 hrs.

And it'll look just like this, when it's done...

Very nice. Are you sleeping at night or is the anxiety getting to you. I had to wait 2 days for my dealer to get my Estoril from another dealer so I know how you must be feeling.

I don't sleep these days.. The last time I was this excited about a car was when my dad bought me a convertible as a high school graduation gift.

Enjoy it... That kind of insomnia is few and far between, and honestly, the best kind..

Track it, learn about overseas freighters, follow shippers to delivery.. Set up a phone to track progress, find webcams of the vessel. in ports or locks.. Lots of threads to show you how to do that.. I followed my vessel through Panama on their live cams.

Overall, this is the best part.. The anticipation..It doesn't get any better than that..

And don't forget to share the experience with us once you finally get the key..

Just be glad you are not ordering an M car which can take months.

My Dad did the same thing. We went looking and I ended up with a white 57 Chevy V8 convertible. What a nice ride that was.

All I've been telling myself, since I found out yesterday that my order went into production is that... I'm lucky the car went into production 2 weeks before it was expected and I'm saving $$ by not being able to add M-Sport, which is more appearance than anything else.. But dang.. I really wanted that M steering wheel.

I'll go the other way. I don't have the MSport wheel and before buying, felt both of them, and preferred the more heavily grained leather wrap on the Sportline wheel, which still has a very nice rim section to it. For quick moves, it feels to me that it has more grip. Hub/control styling is six of one, half a dozen of the other.

I drive both on a regular basis and honestly neither is bad, just different look and feel. I prefer the Msport one aesthetically but the Sportline one seems easier on my hands. Have some arthritis and nerve damage from a broken hand way back when.

If you really want the trim that's an easy swap and not expensive once you sell what your car comes with, wheel I wouldn't worry about it. Heated wheel though, that's a different story and VERY nice. Surprising folks get seats but no wheels for $200, although I could do without the headlight washers.

I concur - the heated wheel is really nice especially here in the North East / Mid Atlantic.

I really think that and heated seats should just be standard everywhere. I was in Miami over the holidays and rented a 430 convertible. Really nice actually better than I expected. That said no heated seats even in Miami in the evening was not cool. Actually it was cool, which was not desirable at the time.

I like heated steering and ventilated seats...

I think it's because I don't wear gloves while driving, but wear pants... but in the Summer, I wear shorts and even when I don't, the black interior holds heat, so ventilation is nice.

Never did car for the heated seats...
