Brake fluid service update*

Hey guys,

Just finished up the night working on my car. Did an intercooler install and a methanol kit install. Just turned my car on to go home and I get a service message saying " brake fluid 12/2001 service over due! Please make and apt........'

Anything to be worried about? Brake fluid reservoir is still almost at max line and car is stopping excellent.

Maybe when the bat was disconnect it messed with it show? Anyways I am going to try a battery disconnect and reconnect tomorrow.

Brake fluid service (flush and replace) is now done in 3 years so something is wrong. Take it in and let the dealer handle it. Maybe you'll get an extra flush!

I suggest you go back and check your work. It is possible that you forgot to plug something in, or perhaps pranged some little connector somewhere. When situations like this arise, it's often related to something you last did.

Take it from a long-time electronics technician who has been there, done that.

I have set the date and time. And I have back checked my work 4 times now and also had my friend check it over as well.

Anyone happen to know which fuse might be responsible for this? Or where to find the fuse chart?

Fuse chart is supposed to be stuck behind/inside the glove box - if you do a search there is a forum that details it. May also be info on how to reset the interval, either by coding or via menu (I think older models could be reset from the vid screen menus, not sure for the 2 series).

So I scheduled my appointment online last weekend. It asks what service you'd like to bring the vehicle in for. I checked off the 20 k miles box. Brake fluid was in the list of items included for 20 k service.

Brought the car in last weekend and had everything done no questions asked.

No clue. Light popped on, I brought it in, light is off. That's how I'll handle it until I put track fluid in myself haha.

The fuse box in a 2-series is in the trunk, and there is a folded piece of white cardboard that has the fuse chart printed on it. The card is in the fuse box, in the trunk.

Thank you. There is also one in the engine bay with no fuse chart. That's the one I was looking at.

run a search on the whole forum, I could swear I recall reading about a complete listing for all the fuses that is tucked away someplace that, to me, seemed weird (not like the one in w/ the fuses noted above - I'm remembering it as behind the glovebox?), but perhaps it was for another model or something?
