Bye bye Blizzak WS 80

Just put MPSS back on... a week of temps in the 70s ahead...
How liberating that first drive on summers has been...

Just finished swapping my WS-70's out an hour ago... Been a "interesting" Winter for sure..

It's amazing how sharp the car feels with normal rubber.. How quickly you forget..

It also feels really good to have TPMS back and not have the car "dinging" at me every time I start it..

Bring on Spring.....

Last night after work, following a top down drive home, I completed a quick wash and dry with an ice-cold beer in hand and then switched out my winter wheels and tires for the summer staggered PSS set-up with another ice-cold beer in hand - perfect. This morning I dropped the top again while I made a run to Duncan for some donuts. Good start to the weekend. I was gonna stop and take a few pictures, but I was enjoying the drive too much and I really needed to get home with the donuts.

Bought my M235i in December and mounted the winter set-up right away, so other than the test drive, this is the first time I have run the BMW wheels and summer tires - big difference.

With lows around 30, I've still got at least one more week (more likely 2 - 3 weeks) before I can switch back. Since I put my winter tires on right at 1,200 miles, I have yet to experience the MPSS's to their full glory. Looking forward to it (although I do need to get out skiing one more time before spring).

Winter tires were mounted when the car was 1 day old in January - so eagerly waiting weather that stays above 45F for the lows - and then I can mount the summer wheels with the MPSS. Patience is such a pain.

I will keep the winters on for another few weeks, not because of cold or snow, but because of the potholes. 17" rims do much better in potholes than 18" or 19" and it will take another month before they start filling those holes around here.

You are lucky. In Michigan, every season is pothole season. So much so, that I also changed my 3-season set-up from the OE 18" to 17", albeit Pilot Sport AS3 on BBS wheels.

Same here in Minneapolis...the freeze/thaw is so tough on roads! (This emoji perfectly explains me dodging potholes)

Feels so good after 6 months. After some mods it's like a whole new car
