NYC Pothole Claims Experience
With the recent winter storm and general bad NYC roads, I became victim to a pothole blowout this weekend. Anyone ever submit a claim to NYC to be reimbursed for damages? I did a bit of research online and there appears to be an online claim submission form and surprisingly it seems NYC paid out a few million in damage the last few years. (number seems high to me given how hard it is usually to get a penny from the city).
Has anyone submitted this form before? Any luck? Thanks. |

New York will not even consider reimbursing you for your blowout between November and May. Even then, they must be made aware of a specific pothole and be given sufficient time to repair the pothole before they'll honor a claim. I have heard anecdotally that it's near impossible to get NY to pay for damage their poorly maintained roads cause.
NYC may be different than other parts of the state, though, so someone else might have better information for you. |

Thanks, yeah I believe NYC has different claim requirements than NYS at least from what i saw. I hope I'm right about that.
Just trying not to get gouged by the dealer for repair cost right now, I'll keep everyone posted regarding my claim with NYC for anyone else in the same situation. |
