High mileage peeps......

So I have recently taken a job that has me racking up some significant miles in my 228 manual. I've been averaging over 28mpg for most of the driving that I do.

To put what I mean by significant miles I purchased my car in June of last year with just over 2700 miles on it. I have almost 17K on it now. Hasn't missed a beat. Overall I'm very content with my 2L motor and the comfort that it gives me when the temps are freezing with the Cold Weather Package. The lighting package is one of my favorite parts of the whole experience and I won't buy another BMW without them. I will be keeping this one for the long haul and it may just end up in the hands of my teenager when he deserves it one day in the future. Or I may just keep it for the daily when I buy that new Alpha sedan I have my eye on. After all, it's not called the Ultimate sit in the garage machine now is it?

Prost!!!

I agree with your last sentence. I bought mine to drive and it's been a blast. April '14 delivery and I have 22k on the odometer. AND I don't have a daily commute

25k miles since November 2014. I make a 600 mile round trip drive twice a month, over freeways and curvy roads, in summer and in snow. I bought the 228xi to make the trip comfortable, fun, fast, and safe, which is exactly what it does. I cringe at the mileage and how soon the warranty will be up. I plan to keep it until it reaches about 75k miles. I hope BMW will still be offering something like the 2 series in a couple of years when it comes time for me to buy a new one. I agree that the lighting package is essential, especially for drives at night, in bad weather, and on poorly lit roads.

Took delivery from SC Performance Center of my 235 in March 2015. Now have 20K mies on her and still loving this car. Only issue to date was bad electric fan motor. Plus my Bride damaged Right Front spoiler trying to move a high curb. This is a Drivers car - not a garage queen.

Sounds like some of us really enjoy our 228i's more than maybe some of the 235 guys do.

I'm glad to hear that your car has survived.

Picked up mine on 30 Jul 15 and she's got a little over 9k miles. I drove the hell out of her the first three months and chilled after that. By no means she's a garage queen, just giving her some rest after a 1800 round trip run to Vegas. This 235 is def a driver's car and it's fun a hell to drive!

19200 miles and counting! Very happy owner so far. Only had a minor issue with foil sticking out on the side which was fixed in 30 minutes under warranty.

I have that stupid foil thing going on as well. I'm going to wait until I go in for my next oil change. That should be sometime towards the end of this month or early next month.

Nice. Keep on enjoying your car. Where did you go when you were in Germany? Did you do Euro delivery or were you living there like I was?

Prost!!!!
