The new arrival, collected yesterday, sunset orange M240i

So after a patient 2 month wait, I finally collected the M240i yesterday.
I’ve only covered around 100 miles but so far I may over the moon with it!
Spec as follows
Sunset Orange
Oyster Leather
Pro sat nav
M double spoke jet black alloys
Steering wheel heating
Automatic
Reverse camera
Sun protection glass
Exterior folding mirrors
Elec front seats
Lumbar support
Seat heating
Brushed aluminium trim with pearl finisher
PDC front and rear
Cruise control
High beam assist
Driving assist
Park assist
Harmon Kardon stereo

As you can see it’s almost fully loaded, I plan to keep the car for many years.
I opted out of the adaptive suspension, so far I’m happy with the ride of the standard set up, seems to glide over any road bumps.
I’m in love with the colour. It really does pop in the sunlight and is quite subtle under darker conditions. Not many people are brave enough to go with it but see it’s in the flesh and you’ll soon change your mind. Should be a rare colour in years to come, on the M240i at least.

Oh my goodness that is a good looking car. Mine is almost the same except I got black seats and the bi-color rims. I was wondering when I would see someone else brave enough to get the sunset orange

Congratulations and enjoy....I know you will!

And, yes, it takes a HUGE amount of bravery to order Orange over Oyster!

Very nice, and I see you went w/ the moonroof delete- smart. Is this a17 or 18. Based on the interior pix I think I see a cup holder lid..so it's an '18?

Nice to see an example w/ the moonroof delete. A few members ordeedr theirs w/the delete and car came w/ a moonroof, so a discussion ensued about the option being not available for 2018.

Appears their dealers screwed up or BMW got their act together. Either way, you got a great car.

I saw a sunset orange in the show room with the same wheels and I can honestly say that’s what sold it to me, I wasn’t even looking for a new car, but it seemed time to upgrade from the old 840ci.

It’s an 18, LCI.
In the UK the moonroof or as we Call it “sunroof” was an extra so there was no need to delete. I did have my heart set on getting a sunroof, but I test drove 2 one with, one without and the sunroof does cut a bit of headroom in the front and rear so it was lucky I test drove 2.

Just seen you have Valencia with oyster

I’ve had cream/light leather in all my Bmw’s - E36 320i, E38 740i, E46 330 ci and E31 840ci, I’m a great fan of the light and dark contrast, although this new leather looks more susceptible to wear and stain easier, is it hard wearing?

On another note it seems bmw are scrimping on the small stuff, fabric holder for all the manual stuff instead of leather, floor mats are really flimsy and Velcrod Down, and even the key rings just have a printed dealer stamp on the back of the leather instead of embedded on the metal.

Also can they really justify calling that thing in the battery compartment a tool kit? A jacking eye, screwdriver and locking wheel nut
Although there is a pocket that is empty, should there be anything else in the tool kit?

Ahh, so the mystery still persists here in the "states" whether we can delete it.

I did the delete on my 2017 for weight saving placed so high in the car -plus don't need the extra sun on me here in Florida ("The Sunshine State" you know).

Very nice, enjoy! I always find it interesting to see the differences in ordering options and packages in Europe vs the US. It appears in the UK, everything is Ala carte. Want a sunroof, add it, don't want adaptive suspension, no problem. In the US, everything is packaged together. Clearly there are pluses and minuses to both methods. I don't mind the packages because you often end up with an option or two you might not have chosen had you have to pay extra for it, but it's thrown in as part of the package and typically it's a nice feature that you get to appreciate once you have it. I also notice you have the "M" on the front quarter panel flanks. I wonder, is that a UK / Europe thing or do the 2018's coming to the US have them as well. I know originally the early m235's had the extra "M" but they were discontinued at some point. At any rate, congratulations.

I believe I ordered mine with sensatec since there seems to be some controversy regarding the leather. Some swear by it saying it is amazing, easy to maintain and looks new after years. I have had other say the opposite. The leather wears out fast and if you put anything in your hair that has alcohol in it, it will eat up the leather in the headrest.

I am neither camp since I don't have my car yet but thats why I ended up with the sensatec. I may have kids in the next 8 years or so, so I figured not having leather would be easier anyway (granted a coupe with kids is not easy to begin with haha)

Empty pocket is for the wheel lock adapter. But, yeah, that's the most pathetic toolkit I've ever had.

P.S. Beautiful color!

I don’t think I’ll ever get sick or bored of the colour, it’s almost 2 tone, my neighbour thought it was red but when he stood on the other side where the sun was hitting it he clearly saw it was orange.
In early evening light, just as the street lights come on it looks awesome.
I just want to open her up, I’m being cautious upto 1000 miles.
It’s like going to bed with a glamour model and not being able to touch her

Great car. The orange really looks so good on these, where other cars tend to look too gaudy.

Thanks, and yes, It sure does, as mentioned above, had i of not seen this in orange in the showroom I may not have ordered. The colour really did sell it to me.
I just think the roads are just so monotone now, whites, blacks, greys and silvers.

I originally wanted to put the black gloss grills on it straight away but now I have it I think I can live with the silver grills.
