Return to Stock or Leave Mods Before Sale

I bought a 2015 M235 that was completely stock.

I had a reputable shop install VRSF Charge Pipe, Catless Down Pipe, and FMIC and I bought the MHD with the wireless OBD interface.

I am now ready to move on to something else.

I kept the catted downpipe and it would be included in the sale either way, but I am wondering if I would be better off selling it with the bolt ons left in place and include the MHD software (I assume it can be transferred), or if I should put the original downpipe back on and tune back to stock before the sale.

Does anyone have any experience with selling a full bolton car?

Many assume a modded car was driven hard/abused as will shy away from it. For others it may be just what they plan to do when they get one. I don't know if the catless downpipe & tune would prevent the car passing emissions testing in certain states, but I'd consider reversing those two items. Good luck!

I came across a modded 3 series a couple years ago. I loved it, especially the sweet sounding exhaust note. I was looking for a daily driver at the time so I passed, but had I been looking for a toy, I would have bought it on the spot. Guess it just comes down to finding the right buyer at the right time.

There's always a bigger audience for a stock car, and you can't usually make money back on mods if they're still installed.

Plus you can detail everything in between taking mods off and putting stock parts back on, and cleaner cars sell for more.
