18x8.5 arc-8s square setup for M235i fitment question

Apex only confirmed that 235/40/18 will fit. Is anyone riding around in 245/35/18s all around?

I have been running 235/40s in front and 255/35s in rear for the last few weeks, no problems.

I am riding around in 255/3518's on ARC-8 ET38's.

However, I do have some camber dialed in (I have camber plates) -- more than 2 in the front and more than 1.5 in the back.

Yes I am running 245/35 square on stock suspension however they are 17's not 18's

The wheels are: 17 x 8 ET 40
I'm sure you can do the same thing with 18 inch wheels though.

That is going to rub against the strut I'm afraid.. ET 40-42 is already super close to the strut

I think so too. We test fit some 18x9 ET42's at work today and they wouldn't work. I think I'll have to run a 5mm spacer to get the wheel/tire away from the strut.

Very unlikely, can't be done without camber, I don't believe that I'm sorry.

From my experience with 18x9et41 D-Force LTW5, you'll need a 6mm spacer at least. If you are successful with an 18x9 effective et37, I'd really like to see the results.

Take it or leave it brother
I understand your reaction though, I was surprised when I first heard too. Car is x drive, in case that makes any difference, I wouldn't know...

Well I'm astonished.. From the pictures it does look like it could rub the fender under load! But maybe it doesn't! Good to know
That setup will definitely work with some added camber though!

Sorry, I think the post I wrote was confusing.

I should be able to run the 18x8.5 ET45 in the front with a 5mm spacer......not the 18x9 ET42. I'm also looking at the HRE FF15, their new flow formed wheels, in an 18x8.5 ET40 front and 18x9 ET44 rear. I think those would work without spacers.

Sorry for the confusion.

Is it possible that the fact that the car is x drive has to do with anything not rubbing?
I believe they both have the same drop in height based on what people have told me...

Hey OC are those ARC-8's? Anyone do the Hyper Black? Would love to see some pics. Think I'm going Apex wheels staggered but tire fitment is a big concern. Want to stay with Pilot SS's.

enkei raijin. apex makes a rear wheel specifically for this car with a 62mm offset, i recommend that if you go staggered

Those tires are either Dunlop ZII's or ZII Starspecs which run quite a bit wider than many tires as they are designed for autocross. I'm surprised they fit up front without any rubbing issues, great to know that's a possible setup though!

Sorry to revive an old thread but I'm looking into the Arc-8s in 18x8.5ET38 and was wondering if a 245/40/18 square setup would work on stock suspension? According to wheel-size this should clear the fender and strut no problem but I was just curious if anyone has done it or found a definitive answer.

I had 245/40/18 conti DW on 18x8 42 ET with m4 LCAs and it would rub the fender on large bumps. Rears were totally fine.
