M-Performance Diffuser

I just placed a fairly large order for the M-Performance Exhuast and the M-Performance diffuser. I would assume the diffuser comes primed? Anyone have any photos of how it comes?

Also can anyone note the difference between the M-Performance Diffuser exhaust outlets? From my understanding, the outlets are closer together towards the middle. Is this correct?

I follow this forum closely and I have yet to see the M Performance diffuser. I would love to see it though!

Nice order - I am definitely jealous - do you know if the diffuser comes already painted ?? Hopefully you get it all soon.

I am thinking to order MP rear diffuser, a pair of adptors and a pair of SS tips (CF tips not yet available until Q3). Will this look exactly the same with MP exhaust? just have sound or performance difference?

the exhaust is a different part if you have the M performance diffuser and has a narrower silencer so the pipes exit closer together.

the diffuser comes black matt ready for paint.

Dennis. not sure the M performance tailpipes will fit the standard exhaust, its what i want to do. ps (carbon tips are about $400 dollars i think)

performance exhaust

I just put on the exhaust and it fit with the standard diffuser. It comes as an axle back unit. The muffler and both exhaust tips are standard size. The fitment is very nice and love the sound. It comes with the muffler , a clamp to use after pipe is cut and you get your choice of tips. I got the chrome with M on them, the carbon fiber are very expensive. You got as good price. Mine was 900$ for muffler, 90$ per tip and I believe 50$ for the clamp. With installation came to just under1300.00

Yeah, the parts from Tischer come primed; they're straight from BMW. They do offer to paint the parts before shipping them to you though for a free based on the size of the piece.

I just picked up an order from them this past weekend, but I'm getting my parts painted by a friend up in here in PA.

I did a quick comparison of a M235i with the std diffuser and a M235i with the M perf diffuser from a similar rear angle shot and sized them to match.
It looks to me like the M diffuser will fit the std exhaust configuration.

certainly two different part numbers depending on whether you have the M aerodynamics.

Does anyone have a part number for the carbon tips?

I find it kind of odd that BMW Motorsport would choose to paint their rear diffuser mostly black, compared to the M Performance colors. Is it because BMW Motorsport decided not to prime/paint them for the M235i Racing, hence black?

I think I prefer it black...

Do to think the exhaust sits higher up in the diffuser? Maybe that's the difference.

You can wait a little and the aFe catback exhaust will be available. You can get either stainless steel tips or black ones. No cutting of the factory system and price will be far lower than the M Performance catback system and just a little more than the M Performance Muffler. The 435i system from aFe is selling for under $1500 and shows very good performance gains and deeper sound. I like the idea the electronic cut-over is not used on the aFe system.

My dealer has fitted an M Performance exhaust to a standard diffuser, so I can't see in not working the other way round.

This really is making me question the diffuser option. Not only was it $60 more on the exhaust, it was another $400 on the diffuser it's self.

I like to stick to OEM + styling and options; other than tuning for this car. If I can keep as many BMW Performance options I will. Exhaust is a small place to make power and BMW has proven to make a great sounding exhaust on all their performance options.

I think the M Performance exhaust part # for the standard diffuser has shorter pipes compared to the exhaust part # for the M diffuser. If you install the M diffuser with the standard exhaust you need to add adapters (part #2287042).
