Active Tourer to US is not official yet

Bmw's head of product planning says the market is too small and there is no guarantee that Active Tourer would be sold in US next year:

We are evaluating the Active Tourer 225eDrive in the US at the moment and people seem to be curious about this BMW and its unfamiliar concept! some have even said it would be perfect for their wife even better that its a plug-in hybrid.

SCOTT26 Count me in I'm in the USA and REALLY need a car like the active tourer right now. With 'e' power is more the appealing and would be perfect.

Looking at the MPV market in the USA right now is really sad, options are super limited and it would be nice to keep that money in the BMW family. The current X car isn't cutting it for what I need.

Don't give up on the US market for this car

You could be getting the 225eDrive Active Tourer. As an entry hybrid alternative.

This would be perfect as my 3rd car (commute car) to replace my 640GC. I'm not sold on the i3 REX(with it's high cost). 225eDrive would be ideal for my commute where 1/3 of the distance takes of 2/3 of the time.

We have the Mini Clubman, isn't the 2-active tourer a build-up of the Mini structure ?

Yes, the Active Tourer use the same platform as the new Mini Clubman. Wheelbase is the same. But I believe the Active Tourer has more space as it is taller.

I would like to get some further info about the 2 Grand tourer. Just started shopping around. Checked a lot of three rows SUVs and Minivans. Some are really nice(e.g. Volvo xc90, audi Q7) but very expensive. All we need is just the ability to occasionally carry more 5 people. Really want to have the 2 GT as our second car.

The Gran Tourer is really a drivers car if you compare with other three rows cars in the same size. Compared to other BMW's it's more complicated.

First i tried the Active Tourer with 3 cylinder petrol engine and FWD but that was not my cup of Tea.

So we ordered xDrive to avoid the FWD and the diesel engine for the mpg.
With M Sport the car looks atleast a little sporty also =)

We have some ruff roads in Sweden but I would still go with the 18" rims if I had to reorder.

I'm enjoying my 225xe after 6 weeks.

I cannot see it coming to the US just like the 1 series has never arrived.

I am in Asia, 218ia is very famous selling, they dont like to buy 225, sport and e - plug.
225 has not enough space for 7 seats, they would choice VW, asian dont believe the battery of BMW, they think it’s a toy, they just believe Tesla. And the sport , they will just buy on
series 1.

It doesn't matter what Asia wants as BMW cars as they cannot drive and why is this? Just today an Asian drive was holding me and a line of traffic doing 50kph in an 80kph area. Every place I travel there is always poor Asian drivers. I'm trying to be polite
