M235i optional extras

Looking for a little bit of advice

brought my M235i just last weekend, when purchasing the car the advert said it have Enhanced Bluetooth and this was also confirmed by the dealer when negotiating on price.

When taking the car for a test drive, I didn't think to check this optional extra.

On having the car for just a few days, I have confirmed it does not have this optional extra fitted to the car.

What are my options going back to the garage I purchased it from?

The garage is a reputable and well established garage which is fully registered as a private limited company and registered to offer finance.

bear in my mind that I live in the UK also so it might be slightly different in the USA.

Run the VIN and see how it was built.

If you bought if from a used car dealer, well, buyer beware IMHO.

Maybe a company like Bimmer Retrofit(or the like) can help you out. I am not sure IF you can add it or not. But a lot of these companies offer remote coding, so they can send you the hardware and then they arrange a time to do the remote coding on your car. Or they give you a USB stick with the coding sw on it to load.

Q). What is the difference between BT and Enhanced BT ? Does your car have BT ?

Enhanced BT adds audio streaming*, mobile office (mail/SMS), ability to connect two phones and a second microphone.
Depending on age and equipment the software features can be enabled by coding. There is lots of information about this around the interwebs.

Maybe you can get the dealer to code it for you, but it's still not what you paid for..

* From MY2015 audio streaming is included with standard BT.

I had Enhanced Bluetooth added to my 2016 235 with coding by CodeMyCar.com. Nice feature.
