Arrow 2-series Active Tourer 7-seater spotted testing on the 'Ring...

Say what you will about BMW building a 7 seater mini-van... but dam this thing looks like its find to toss around. And seeing that it's FWD it doesn't squeal the tires like say your average VAG product.

Despite the FWD underpinnings and peoples opinions.
Active Tourer is a great drive.

I will be taking delivery of an Alpine White M Sport 218d in July for a few months to evaluate how this car suits my needs for extra flexibility and as a vacation hold-all in August. Especially with young children in the back so comfort and durability are important.

It has the black leather M Sport interior I am quite excited even more so than taking delivery of my next M5 in a few days.
The 218d should prove to be less conspicuous than the M5 in which some law enforcement in Europe just wait for your foot to become slightly heavy.

@SCOTT26

Hi
I'm in the UK and have been offered one as a company car, but the showrooms don't get one until August so I was keen to hear about your driving experience as no one seems to have drive one yet!

Thanks

The five seater: 2er Active Tourer - started production today in Leipzig. So you might start seeing them soon!

I would love to see a diesel Active Tourer in the United States. VW and Audi are offering more models in diesel in the United States. Unfortunately the BMW offerings are limited here.

I'd love to get my wife out of the Honda Odyssey into one of the 7 seat models in a few years, but she won't give up the sliding doors while hauling around reckless kids that fling them open when given a chance. BMW, please consider bringing sliding doors to the active-tourer stretch. Yes we use all the seats to carpool kids to school, sports events, etc.

The doors are especially wide for easy access. As is functional access to the rear seats.

Wide doors

Precisely the problem in crowded US parking lots. sliding doors offer expansive access and ~30-40 cm lateral clearance.

try lapping the ring in a traditional van. That's not bad. And it does seem very neutral for a FWD car. not sure if the driver was left foot braking, but it rotated nicely to stay balanced instead of pushing like hell.

Another render of the Seven Seat BMW 2er Gran Tourer.
It launches in Early 2015 for the Geneva Auto Show in March 2015.

Yeah, moving towards a minIvan, which I appreciate as one of many with a BMW sports sedan owner with a practical hauler in the second garage bay, but wife won't bite without the sliding doors...maybe next iteration.
