When I first joined my designation was Lieutenant now it is Captain. What do those rankings mean and how do you advance a grade.

We shouldn't have run the Canadian u-boat commander off to Bimmerforums. Maybe I am just spit balling here, but we have a responsibility to see that forum users are trained professionals. I think I read that somewhere once. While expeditious and painless, transferring him wasn't the American way.

Yeah, I kind of miss the twerp.

We had few knuckleheads like that when I was in the Army. We referred to them as duds. Duds ended doing a lot of push-ups and s**t details. Some even got sent to the "front."

Hey...I'm a French Canadian. Born and raised in Montreal, now in Toronto. It's the Frenchmen from France that are a PITA.

Ha! I've had a few chuckles myself after seeing I was promoted to the rank of Major (and without facing a promotion board). Even Major is way above my old Army rank of SP5; a rank I somehow achieved while in Vietnam.

So what was that pseudo rank in the M*A*S*H TV series? Corporal-Captain?

Anyway, I'm so thankful those days are far, far behind us. And I think my M235i is a nice step-up from an Army 3/4 ton truck or deuce-and-a-half.
