How the hell do you fit a car seat in the center? The spacing between the latches is about an inch more then any carseat base. What am I missing? I tried to latch Nuna Pipa base but I obviously cant bent metal rods that are on the base. Are they adjustable on Mesa?

edit: nevermind, I see that MESA uses LATCH system where mechanism is flexible, Nuna has ISOFIX where mechanism is fixed
Can't tell you if it will be exciting or scary but it will be sleepless

Yes, with LATCH it seems to work...the anchors are a bit further away but it works....

Thanks for the tips, I got my car seat mounted in the middle and it looks pretty good and secure. I put down a towel under the car seat so it sits on the middle “hump” better.

Not worried about sleep.....worried that I will probably have to quit my job for some time. We live in a country with 2nd worst maturity leave and pay laws in the world. Wife will have to go back to work in 3 month (only 1.5 is paid at like 70%) and we have no one to look after the baby, and its kinda scary (and not recommended) to send your child to day care at 3 month

My other option for carseat was Cybex Cloud Q which I somewhat like due to recline, but that thing is 14-lbs vs 8-lbs for Nuna Pipa. Cloud Q can be installed in the middle.

Of course its US. By law 3 month unpaid IF you have been employed for over 1 year and IF company has more then 50 employees or something. Rest are just screwed. Many woman are forced to go back to work 2 days after giving birth.....its crazy.

Well I guess there’s something to be said for higher taxes and universal healthcare ..., we get 18 months here in Ontario with employment insurance pay during the leave.

Healthcare is one of the reasons she has to go back to work, if she doesn't they take it away for the entire family. Whats your tax rate? We pay about 30% + my wife pays for health insurance about $250-300 per month. Daycare is another $1500 on top per month

Combined federal and provincial tax rate is about 46% if one income is CAD150k. Otherwise it’s less, and there are child tax credits as well.

Daycare is about $2000 a month so the wife is staying home as long as maternity leave allows since that’ll save a bundle.

PS. How do you get the carseat in? Through the middle without folding the seat? Or through the opening when seat is completely folded and moved forward?

You fold the seat and push the button on the shoulder once and the seat will move all the way forward

Yeah that's what I did.....tight fit. I thought maybe with carseat in the middle it's possible to slide it between the front seats without folding maybe

Hi, I'm also looking at the Nuna Pipa car seat as well, were you able to fit the car seat in the middle or you went with another choice? Thanks.

No I wasn't able to do it, I placed it behind passenger seat. Works for now. Nuna has rigid latches and those can never go in the middle on any car
