Anybody thought about buying GoPoint bl1 or bt1 that plugs into scan port and wireless sends whatever data you want to your iphone or android? It's like $120 but not only tells you about any error codes but it will live stream engine temp, coolant temp and a ton of other stuff and it's right there on your phone. Seems like the easiest solution.

Edit: looks like oil temp not available on this unit. Coolant works. Logs can be emailed, but not in csv format - just the app's format. You can replay logs in the app. BTW, on a quick trip to the store my temp settled in ~220F |

I read somewhere that with other recent model bmw's the oil temp doesn't get passed up through the odb-ii port on these cars so it may not be possible to get that working. Don't quote me on this, it's just what I vaguely remember reading somewhere.
