What mileage are we talking about here? Assuming 10K, typically what BMW advertises. Not enough for me.

Anyone know if you can negotiate lease with mileage allocation greater than 15K? I need 20K minimum. Likely not cost effective, and for that I always purchase, but considering a the first MY again. Would rather lease a buggy car than have the frustration of owning it.

Hopefully these are just initial lease prices/deals to cope with the overly high demand they're expecting... otherwise I'll pass on a 2 series next time.
I believe the numbers provided from BMW is based on:
Well equipped including features such as Premium Package (Leather Seats, Moonroof, Comfort Access, Satellite Radio, Power Front Seats and more), Automatic Transmission, iPod/USB Adapter, Hands-free Bluetooth and Destination charges.

More than likely the LCI F30 (coming in late 2015) will have a higher price, so they are offering attractive deals on leasing current F30s to move inventory.

Payment $505 ---> $550 security deposit ---> $3850 maxed out security deposits

In the $505 case, sometimes it's a good idea to put a few hundred dollars down to lower your payment to under $500 to save some money.

Each security deposit lowers your money factor by .0007, for a maximum of .00049, which is a total reduction of 1.18% from your interest rate.

To compare the two using fictitious numbers:

$1000 down payment will lower your payment $20/month
$1000 deposit will lower your payment $12/month

Of course like stated above, you get your money back at the end of the lease, and if your car is stolen or totaled.
Did not know those exact numbers. But that is fantastic info! Thank you!

This thing isn't worth paying msrp, if that is what is going on right now.

Won't be too long before you can get one no more than $1,000 over invoice. Just like very other BMW. My last 2 BMW's I paid invoice.

Of course. But dealers know that people are going to want them right away so they won't need to budge until demand slows. That's all

Who said the pricing is competitive? I don't think anyone ever promised you that..
Don't get all upset just cause you assumed.....

BMW NA would prefer you in a 3 series rather than a 2 (or 1 series) so that they can cotinue to hold the compact european sedan sales crown... by the way... this isnt anything NEW...

PS.. have you noticed the cheapest car in the BMW lineup is an SAV? the X1 ? ($30,900) vs the 228 ($32,100) vs 3 series ( $32,750). of course a 328 runs 37,750....

This is a good deal for the m235. Imo I'd wait at least 6-12 months and get one you can negotiate the msrp Down way more.
Yes, minus any significant damage to the car or tires that need replacing. I've found BMW much more lenient than a brand like Toyota when returning a lease

A loaded M235i approaches modestly optioned CLA45 AMG territory.

While the CLA45 is a full fledged AMG, reviews weren't the best. I think Car and Driver said "When you pay for half a Mercedes, you get half a Mercedes." That's pretty harsh. But coming from the Canadian auto show, as a volume seller, everybody went crazy for the CLA.

It's going to come down to, do you want to spend $50k on a potentially better driving car, or do you want to spend $50k for the AMG badge?

Reviews for the CLA45 have been quite good. Reviews for the A45 have been even better (hopefully we end up getting that in the States).

The quote you referred to was attributed to the standard CLA (a CLA250).

The CLA45 isn't a CLA250 with an AMG badge (I don't think you were trying to assert otherwise). As you know, it gets a vastly different treatment with respect to driving dynamics. It also benefits from better (i.e., premium) materials (e.g., two-tone Recaro perforated leather seats, Nappa leather/alcantara steering wheel, MB-Tex-covered dash with contrast stitching) and additional technological features.

Eventually, I think the M235i will end up being a great value. I just was surprised when after building a few of them the estimated payments weren't far off of what I was paying for a nearly fully loaded F30 M Sport 335i.

Of course the same could be said about the CLA45. If you tick every box the payments swell to silly amounts.

A lease is based on residual value and money factor. All BMWs currently have the same money factor, but the 2 series has a slightly higher residual value, 62% versus 61%. The huge difference is that the 328i has $2k in incentives this month, while the 2 series has $0 in incentives since it's a new car. That's the difference in lease prices right now.

It is true. A lease and a buy don't work the same way when it comes to payout of the coverage.

Thanks for the clarification. Yeah I wasn't asserting that the CLA45 was just a badge. The M235i could be good value if one doesn't go crazy with the options.

Yes you can. Start with the 15k residual. They charge $0.15 for each mile above 15k per year. So for 20k miles per year, that's $750 extra per year or about $62 extra per month before tax.

People usually think high mileage leases don't make sense. I think the opposite is true... BMW charges so little for the extra miles vs what you'd lose in resale if you bought it. If you 20k or 25k miles per year leasing can definitely be a good option. Most people (incorrectly) dismiss the lease in that case because they think it'll be much more expensive but it actually isn't.
