Rear tire width

At 6.5k miles, I have to replace my PSS rears. I'm going to use stock wheels for a few more months but most likely purchasing wheels in the future. Is 255 the widest I can go in order to use stock wheels for the time being and a wheel upgrade in the future?

You shouldn't use anything bigger than 245 on an 8' wheel...at least what's Michelin recommends

I don't know if you can or want to go over 255s on 8" wheel, but years ago, I ran 255s on a 16x7 inch wheels, and I never had a problem... Just remember, it's on you, if your tire blows off because you put too wide a tire on for the rims.

Some tires may be OK, kind of, others may be wider while nominally the same size. Depends on manufacturer and specific tire model.

6.5k and they need replacement? I've done some aggressive driving and at 4,900 miles, mine are looking good.

Yeah I was driving the car pretty hard but was expecting at least 7k.

Looks like I'll go 245 to stay safe.

Wow - closing on 9k miles here including 1 week @ Deals Gap with a lot of hard mountain road driving - tires are in great shape.

I'm hoping for 16-17k but with 18x9.5 rear wheels going on next week, I won't mind the chance go wider a bit sooner. If I get 15k from the rears I'll be happy.

I'll snap a picture tomorrow. This is what the service people told me, and ofc wanted to charge me $360 per tire.

First two pictures are rear, last picture is the front. Are they really that bad?
