I sit deep in the seat and I'm not real tall. My 2 door 2er makes me put the seat pretty far forward to let me put the clutch to the floor. In my garage I can only open the door one notch so it is tight getting out. I sometimes drag a foot on the door or the rocker panel. Any suggestions to protect these areas?

One thing you can do is cut a pool noodle in half and glue it to the wall at the outer most height where the door touches the wall

Set the second seat-setting button to be fully rearward; hit that as you power down and you'll have more room to maneuver. I just wipe my doorskins/sills w/ damp cloth now and then - don't think it has actually scratched anything. You can also use the 'wall-bumper technique noted above, but with a hanging pad if you are next to another car (hang it from ceiling at the right height, and it works for both cars - does take some practice to not get snagged in it (if you do this in an apartment carport, your neighbors may just tear it down if they don't get it).

I have one of these too. Also, I have my seat programmed on button 2 to go all the way back which gives me more room to get out of the car. And, if needed get one of those latch handles which come with a glass hammer and seat belt cutter. I'm 74 now no problem getting out but may need one in 10 years.

I've taken a 2' length of ¾" water pipe insulation and hung it on the garage wall. This is the foam cover for metal water pipes that has a slit all along it so you just wrap the insulation over a pipe. Works very well with the longer doors on the 2 Series. I'll take a photo' later.

On my electric seats, there's a rocker switch on the top of the seat. Press-and-release it quickly, backwards, once, and the seat moves as far back as it can go; then press-and-release it forwards and it returns to the memory position. You do the converse to move it forwards the maximum. It isn't always obvious it can do this, as pressing for more than a second just moves the seat forwards/backwards while depressed.

I use cardboard from all the boxes I get from all the mod deliveries. It's free but does not look the best obviously.

Cardboard works to prevent dents, but it is surprisingly rough. Almost like fine sandpaper. After 10 years of opening the door of my last car against a well placed box I was surprised to find that the paint on the door edge was wearing off. I'm being more careful with the new car, but need to find something better.

I actually had my door edges wrapped when I put XPEL on on delivery as we have a car port with a brick wall that I (or more to the point my GF) occasionally tap on entry/exit. The wrapper did it for free as I'd wrapped pretty much the entire front. after some months it occurred to me I should have just wrapped the entire doors as door dings in parking lots are likely to be more of an issue long term.

Perhaps a better approach would be to code your car for easy access.

With this activated the driver's seat will automatically move back to a predetermined position when you get out of the car and move forward to the original position after you get in the car. No more scuffs and it will be much easier to get in and out of the car under all conditions.

It's not the scuffs on the interior door panel but the edge of the door hitting the wall outside. If I park just right I'm about a half inch clear of the brick wall on the second door detent - and the door will hit if I let it swing. On the right side I'm less than a foot from the pole of my car port, with the mirrors folded. I trust the parking sensors a lot!

I coded my M235i to move seat back automatically after shutting down car and opening the door. Seat slides back into memory position when door is closed and I turn ignition on. Super convenient!

Clear film paint protection. I had my hood, bumper, front fenders, door cups, side mirrors, rear bumper and...door edges protected with Suntek. Big fan, used on previous M3's, super chip protection. Just an awesome product!
