Isn't there a proper way to determine the correct wheel spacer? All this guessing has me a bit confused. I'm thinking of doing this as well. Also, should I install suspension first and let it settle before installing spacers?

There is no "correct" wheel spacer. It's what ever you like best. Of course putting a 50mm spacer probably won't be ideal

It also depends what wheels and tires you have

I just meant from a Fitment and flush standpoint. Obviously you can put whatever you want in there.

After reading this thread and every other on spacers I chose ECS 12.5 mm front and 10mm rear. Stock suspension and wheels/PSS tires. Here is the latest pic. I also parked my car next to a new 235i coupe to compare and it is a subtle but pleasing difference. Just about flush with the top fender rim. Perfect IMHO

Ya that does look pretty flush. Great job! Surprised the front needs a bigger spacer then the rear actually. I've seen some run 10 front and 15 rear.

With the staggered set up (stock) the rear already sticks out a tiny bit more than the front to begin with.

Yes, the car only goes straight now. It's a bit of a compromise but I'm willing to take it for the look.

Did anyone have to correct alignment or experience steering issues?

Spacers will not affect the alignment. They are flat

No alignment issues so far, only issue that the steering became very very sensitive if the road is not that flat, which is quite shitty...sometimes I think only the look don't worth it.

How does this effect warranty? I assume it is like any other modification falling under a grey are where they wont cover it if they see the part and think it had to do with it. Has anyone had any sort of warranty claim denials for suspension or wheels for running some small (10mm) spacers?

I really like the look but I definitely do not want to deal with warranty BS.

It's unlikely that s spacer will break something. It's a static part at most it will wear the wheel bearing a bit more, but you can take the spacer off and nobody will be able to tell if you have them or not

Ok that's more or less what I figured. I just don't want to have to deal with taking them off for every service... I'm really more of a set and forget kind of guy. Thanks for the info

I recently installed 12mm Burger Motorsports wheel spacers all around.
I love this new setup, I notice the handling changes immediately. The car feels more planted in both normal driving and sport driving. There is and increase of traction through the corners and surprisingly, on the highway, I have a decrease of vibration coming through the steering wheel; makes for doing 100mph a breeze....

Here's the car before installment:
Sitting on
FRONT: Stock rim 18x7.5 - wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport 225/40ZR
REAR: Stock rim 18x8 - wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport 245/35ZR

Burger Motorsport Wheel Spacers 12mm

After installed.

Looking at the space from fender to tire.
REAR

FRONT

Here's a comparison...

She's happy, I'm happy.

same as mine...

I would put the dust cap on at least on the rear or you will get a lot of water and rust in the axel nut...
